TABLE OF CONTENTS

Dear Ruth Asawa School of the Arts Community,

As we come to the close of the fall semester and prepare to say goodbye to 2025, I want to take a moment to thank you for all that you have contributed to our school community over the past months.

This semester has been filled with creativity, learning, growth, and resilience. Our students have shown incredible dedication to their craft and academics, our staff and teachers have gone above and beyond to support and inspire them, and our families have continued to be steadfast partners in this work. Together, you make Ruth Asawa a truly special place.

As we head into winter break, I hope each of you is able to rest, recharge, and spend meaningful time with loved ones. Please take pride in all that we have accomplished this fall—we have much to celebrate and even more to look forward to in the year ahead.

Thank you for an outstanding semester. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year, refreshed and ready for what’s next.

Wishing you a joyful break and a happy, healthy New Year. See you in 2026!

With gratitude,

Principal Kim

Audition Day is Saturday, January 10th, one month earlier than usual, and we need over 40 volunteers to help welcome more than 600 prospective students and families to Ruth Asawa SOTA. Volunteers play a key role in creating the warm, supportive experience that encourages students to choose SOTA.

There are many ways to help with Audition Day. Click here to learn more and sign up to volunteer or donate. Whether you can volunteer to greet students, bring food and drink, or be a multilingual volunteer, every contribution helps support the event. If your schedule is full, you can also make a cash donation to the PTSA to help support the event.

Questions? Contact Frances Dinglasan, Audition Day Coordinator - francesdinglasan@gmail.com.

Save the Date: Audition Day 2026, January 10, Saturday Morning & Afternoon

We will be sharing sign-up sheets for morning and afternoon volunteer opportunities. We hope you’ll be able to participate.

Support the PTSA through concessions in the DKMT

Fun fact, before we started the auction last year, the PTSA fundraised almost 75% of its budget through sales of merch and snacks in the main lobby of the DKMT theater. We want everyone to know every dollar we raise goes back to our community and we are very grateful for your support! As your concessions provider, we will do our best to make your experience just as awesome as the performance you have come to see. For more information on our budget, please visit our website.

Artist In Residence Annual Fund Campaign

We invite all Ruth Asawa School of the Arts families, friends, and community members to donate as much as they are able, as early as they can. Your contribution directly supports the artists who shape your students education day by day, project by project, rehearsal by rehearsal. Our goal is to raise $300,000. As Ruth Asawa’s life’s work embodies, All Is Possible. Together, we will keep her vision alive for every student, every art form, and every dream. Click HERE to donate.
