Introducing...Ellipsis

Today you will learn about a type of punctuation called an ellipsis. An ellipsis consists of three dots so it looks like this (…).  Fiction writers, like YOU, can use this as a craft move to add a special effect to your writing.

Not only will you find out why the main character is bad, but you will also see how the author used ellipses and onomatopoeia.  

  1. Find the sentences in the story that have an ellipsis and  onomatopoeia. Think about the reasons why the author chose to use these craft moves and how they make the story POP!  
  2. Now it is your turn. Find 2-3 perfect places to add (...) in your fairy tale!
