August 2, 2019

Dear Plaza Vista Families,

As we settle into the school year, and with safety as our utmost priority, we would like to inform you of some enhanced safety procedures.

With our primary dismissal now at 1:45 PM four days a week and with grades 4-5 and 6-8 dismissing at 2:31 and 2:55 PM respectively, we now have overlap in the middle of our campus in the afternoons.  4th through 8th grade have PE regularly in the afternoon.

Please find here our new dismissal procedures/pick-up locations that we will be abiding by starting Tuesday, August 6th.

(More information on our new schedule is here.)

We will continue our practice of dismissing grades TK-2nd grade “Teacher to Parent” (at the classroom door) and need your cooperation as outlined for everyone’s safety.  Please note the change in the 3rd grade (and up) dismissal locations if you meet your student after school at PV.  If you have not already, please have a conversation with your 3rd-8th grader(s) about where you will be meeting them for dismissal after school.

Several IUSD schools have similar safety guidelines.

Mr. Blazer, the 3rd grade teachers, and I will be hosting a brief parent assembly in the MPR on Monday, August 5th at 2:45 PM for anyone that would like more information.

We will also be meeting with 3rd-5th grade students Monday during an assembly.

As always, if your child needs anything, at any time, they are welcome to come to our office.

Sincerely,

James Parker

Principal
