It was noted that we presently have a Club Membership of 45 regular members and 15
Conservation Members.
Committee Reports:
Field Committee – Dick Deibert reported that the electric utility company will be trimming trees which
are located within close proximity to their lines in the coming week. Dick also mentioned that we should
remove all bamboo that remains around the pheasant cage area. The belt on the Cub Cadet mower was
replaced.
- Pond – Mike Kotay – Mike reported that he is looking into a replacement chemical for the Clipper used to treat the Watermeal in the lower pond. He will be checking with Hubers to see what might work. Jarrod reported on the work done to repair the pond and driveway damage from the recent flooding at the ponds. The settling pond has been cleared of all silt and the outlet pipe repaired. A swale was built to divert any over flows from the settling pond and keep them from entering the lower pond. Material removed from the settling pond was spread out over adjacent areas to the west on the clubhouse. A discussion was held concerning the draining of the upper pond to remove the silt which has accumulated over the years. Mike reported that his review of the situation with a Consultant centered on the placement on 2 – 24” diameter silt soxx and one 18” diameter silt soxx to act as a barrier to silt which flows into the pond from upstream draining areas. Don Barnhart reiterated that we need to act concerning the siltation or we risk losing the pond. Gary Rehm pointed out that we need to develop a plan for the silt removal and cost estimated for this work. Dick Deibert pointed out that any work to remove the silt will jeopardize our Veterans Fishing Program for the year when the work is done.
- Range – No report was given.
- Grounds Committee –Ken Hartman – Ken discussed the proposed deck extension and with all the rainfall we have not been able to work on it. Dick Deibert commended Bob Crosby for his fine work in maintaining all the mown areas within the Club, especially during this extremely wet year.
- Old Business:
Tenant Property – Chimney – A Chimney Sweep needs to be hired for this job and
coordinated with our tenants.
- A Board meeting needs to be called to review what Dick Fantazier has completed concerning the lease. No date has been set for this meeting as of this time.
- Gary Rehm provided photographs of the tenant house wiring and reported that the wiring appears to be in good shape.
- No update was made on the Safety Deposit Box issue. It was stated that all the Club’s deeds and documents are in the fire proof filing cabinet located in the Clubhouse.
New Business: None
For the good of the Club:
- 2018 Calendar of Events (FINAL DATES)
- National Hunting and Fishing Day (Middle Creek) – Sunday September 23, 2018. As of the meeting we still did not have any deer to roast but Dick Deibert was confident that we will have two for the 23rd.
- Youth Pheasant Hunt December 15, 2018.
At the conclusion, all members present thanked outgoing President Gary Rehm for his tireless work and dedication to the Club. Much progress was made during the past two years and Gary was often the driving force behind the success of the Club. We all wished him well in all that he does. Our next monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday October 9, 2018.
Motion to adjourn was made by Dick Deibert and seconded by Dave Barnhart. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM.
Respectfully Submitted
