6. Fire-fighting Measures
Flammability of the product: Non-flammable
Suitable Extinguishing Media: Use water spray , alcohol-resistant foam , dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: None known.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: May polymerize upon heat - vapor is heavier than air. May move to low area. Decomposition products formed under fire conditions - Carbon oxides Nitrogen oxides , Phosphorous oxide etc.
Advice for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and standard fire fighting equipment for firefighting if necessary. Use water spray to cool down unopened container involved in fire.
7. Accidental Release Measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Remove all sources of ignition. Provide enough ventilation Use personal protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas. Avoid contact with skin and eye.
Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Contain spillage by inert material (such as sand, diatomite) or wipe up with towel, disposed as non-hazardous waste after curing according to section 13.
8. Handling and Storage
Handling
Advice on Safe Handling:
Generally safe for direct contact with the curing product
When handing the uncured liquid. The following precautionary measures should be followed:
Use only in well-ventilated condition. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes
Use suitable personal protective equipment
See section 2.2 for more precautions
Storage
Requirements for Storage:
Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Polymerize upon light Keep container tightly closed to avoid light when not in use.
9. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection
Exposure Limits: Not established
Engineering Controls: Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation. Provide safe shower and eye wash fountain. Personal protective equipment
Respiratory Protection:
Generally normal ventilation is enough. Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face respirator with multi-purpose combination (US) or type ABEK ( EN14387) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls.
