Objectives
- Students will learn words for family members and relationships within the family.
- Students will learn physical characteristics and personality traits.
- Students will learn how to express emotional states using the verb estar.
- Students will learn how to ask for and give personal information.
For Parents
● Guide Students through the following activities:
- Activity 1: Direct student to Lesson 1. Have student practice each vocabulary word in Spanish out loud.
- Activity 2: Direct student to Lesson 2. Have student practice each vocabulary word in Spanish out loud.
- Activity 3: Direct student to Lesson 3. Have student practice each vocabulary word in Spanish out loud.
- Activity 4: Direct student to Lesson 4. Have student practice each vocabulary word in Spanish out loud.

For Students Suggestion: Make flashcards with the vocabulary chart and practice each vocabulary word in Spanish out loud.
- Activity 1: La Familia pg. 33 Complete section 5. The Family Tree begins with grandparents (los abuelos). Practice naming student’s own family members (Example: la prima -> cousin Mary).
Activity 2: Características Físicas y Rasgos de Personalidad pg. 39 Complete section 15. Use words in box to complete the sentences.
- Activity 3: Estados de Ánimo pg. 45 Complete section 28. Use six (6) of the vocabulary words to describe each picture.
- Activity 4: Información Personal pg. 51 Complete sections 38-39. Section 38 Match each question (A) to the information needed (B). Section 39 Read each dialogue and write the vocabulary word that describes the personal information.
