12th Grade Graduation Status
Students who have completed 12th grade must have the graduation information entered
into Synergy. All information must be entered on the ‘Graduation Status - SFUSD’ location, at the bottom of the ‘Other Info’ tab on the main Student screen.
To go to this screen: Log into Synergy, set your focus to current school year, from the Tree Menu>Synergy SIS>Student>Student>Find the student>Click “Other Info”>Scroll down to Graduation Status
NOTE: Use the fields in this location only, even though you may find the information duplicated in other Synergy screens.
Comprehensive school sites will mass exit/assign year end status for all 12th graders. Default values are entered into the following fields:
- Diploma Type: the graduation credit plan will be used for the student. The default value is ‘Plan 1’. For any student who will graduate under different graduation requirements, change the value as appropriate to Plan 2, Plan 3, or Plan 4.
- Year End Status & Completion Status: codes required for CALPADS reporting.
- If a student graduates the Year End Status will be E230 and the Completion Status must contain the code describing how he/she completed (100, 120, 360 etc.).
- UC/CSU Requirements Met: Leave this blank. Synergy computes this for CALPADS reports.
- Graduation Date: If the student graduated (E230 with Completion Status of 100), enter the last day of the school year. If the student did NOT graduate, leave it blank.
- Graduation Month & Expected Graduation Year: default to a blank, see below.
- Calculated Graduation Requirements Year – calculated from the student grade level entry.
- For example, if the student entered 9th Grade in 2017, this field will default to 2021. This is calculated by adding four (4) years to 2017. This field is not editable.
- If this year becomes incorrect, in case the student becomes off-track to graduate, admins must update this year on the Expected Graduation Year to reflect the correct year. All transcripts and reports printed will reflect the year entered on the Expected Graduation Year as opposed to the Calculated Graduation Requirements Year field.
Refer to the Exit Graduating Seniors resource for more information.
