Spring 2025 Afterschool Enrichment

We are excited to offer Afterschool Enrichment classes for the spring 2025 session! Classes are offered for LS and KLS students in grades K-5. Classes will start the week of April 7th and will meet on campus once a week for one hour following dismissal, 3:10pm-4:10pm. Please see the session details below.

Tuesday

Rhythm Makers

grades K-2

Course Description: In our lively drumming class for K-2nd graders, students will embark on a rhythmic journey filled with joy and action. We will learn drumming patterns, try out an electronic drum kit, and design our own drum sticks! Expect a lot of movement as we dance and drum to develop a sense of rhythm and coordination. Come make music with Mr. Knox and the Rhythm Makers!

Dungeons & Dragons Club

Course Description: Calling all adventurers! Join Game Master Kate Carl in this enrichment class, where students will engage in a full Dungeons & Dragons campaign. This campaign includes learning how to create a character, exploring game mechanics, and using collaborative storytelling. No previous game experience is required! Dungeons and Dragons is perfect for people who wish to build friendships, have an interest in acting and creative writing, and enjoy group problem/puzzle solving.

Build-it Brigade with Zaniac

Course Description: Embark on an epic journey of building and engineering excellence with the Build-it Brigade brought to CDS by Zaniac! Unleash your creativity, master new skills, and conquer thrilling challenges in a world where imagination knows no bounds. Dive into the engineering process as we guide students through hands-on building experiences using a variety of materials. Brace yourself for excitement as new challenges unfold each week, offering students the chance to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills. Join us in creating, exploring, and discovering the endless possibilities that await!

Together we will work with our hands, get a little messy and use our imaginations as we explore clay hand building and glazing techniques. The spring session will have all new creative prompts and opportunities to make both functional and sculptural art works. This club is designed for all abilities and welcomes both returning clay club artists and new artists.

Uke-estra!

grades 3-5

Course Description: Join the Uke-estra with Ms. Montana as we explore the ukulele! Boost your creativity and develop your musical discipline while learning to play a variety of styles of music on this fun instrument. This class is great for students new to string instruments and is the perfect segway into learning guitar. Let's have a strumming good time making music together!

Zumba en Español

grades K-3

Course Description: Join us for an exciting and energetic class! Students will dance to Spanish songs while picking up essential Spanish words and phrases and immersing themselves in the vibrant cultures represented. This class is a fantastic way to combine language, culture, and fun. Research has shown that movement enhances learning– so come move, learn, and celebrate the joy of dance with Senora Blanco!
