Introduction

Hello readers. This is Gilk, a former admin/mod for Bungotaiga since August 2020. This is meant to serve as a companion document to the other, expanding on Taiga’s general toxicity towards his mods as well as viewers. Much of this is first hand experiences that I dealt with personally but other mods helped to provide additional input.

Abuse/Toxicity to Mods

In this section, you will see how Taiga treats his admins and mods off stream. The screenshots here have been taken from mod channels in his Discord as well as DMs. Screenshots will have a description when necessary, although most are self-explanatory.

In the above screencap a mod is informing Taiga about viewer statistics after the stream. The mod is met with mockery and coldness despite Taiga specifically requesting they do this. For additional context, Taiga created his own special terminology to refer to viewer count ranges: (Okay <=300, Good >=300, Great >=360).

Below, the same mod is shown trying to comfort Taiga after a “bad” stream night.

Below, Taiga is complaining about his “best friend”, who he’s known for years, not showing up to watch every single one of his streams. This person was ultimately unmodded as a result of this perceived slight

Some casual toxicity directed at me. This happened fairly often, so I didn’t put all of the instances to avoid cluttering.

Below is a petty argument over a new format that was introduced to a children’s card game that Taiga escalated to the point of muting a mod who disagreed with his opinion on the matter.

I tried to ascertain why the mod had been muted and the conversation below ensued.

Taiga’s abusive behavior is typically reserved for the mods as he feels he has ownership of them. His mistreatment of his viewers is significantly more calculated as he can’t risk alienating people who give him money. The others that were involved in this argument did not receive the same treatment as they were Twitch Subscribers.

Toxicity and exclusion directed towards viewers

Huge image wall coming. Explanation at the end of it.

After what I said in the image above, I was banned, and this is what followed:

Quoting back to what he said when he banned me: “I don’t have time to deal with a mod who says terrible things about me and doesn’t show up to stream”

I have been helping taiga for 12 months now, and have never been as rude and toxic as how he has been towards me, or towards any of the other mods.

Here is a glance at the dm’s I would send to taiga after a bad stream or bad day.

So, what happened here was that taiga was angry at his own discord community for being active in voice channels while he was streaming, and even after the stream was over. He was angry at certain individuals who had become “popular” among the discord, saying that they were trying to leech off him and steal viewers, which was not true at all, as they were just playing games and interacting with the community.

Because I’m friends with the people he was targeting, I told them to stay away from the server to avoid taiga from doing something to them, or keep talking bad about them. That should’ve been the end of it but it seems like he still was angry at them for some reason.

Not only did he keep talking bad about his own community, but he also proceeded to private message all of my friends to tell them that he had banned me, and to ignore me if I messaged them, with the objective that I wouldn’t be able to tell what had really happened and expose his toxicity and self-centrism.

There have also been many other past situations where he marks people as “leeches” or “viewer stealers”, even mods who have been around for more than 6 months. Here is an example of a mod who got banned because he was “leeching viewers from taiga”. Note that yes, the mod was a streamer, but was doing it mainly just as a part-time hobby, and his intentions were not to leech from taiga, as he started streaming many months after being a mod.

Here taiga sends a list of users who were talking about said mod in taiga’s server, which made taiga jealous, so he banned and unmodded said mod.

Later, yellow (the mod) talks with his friends (in his own discord) about how he got kicked from taiga’s server, as he thinks that it’s all a joke, until taiga dm’s him the following, to which he felt the need to apologize, even though he did nothing wrong. All he did was become slightly popular in taiga’s discord to be marked as a leech, just like many others.

After some long discussions between the three of us, yellow was unbanned, but never re-modded again by his request, as he felt that taiga’s streams weren’t a good place anymore.

This is another situation where taiga unmodded another person because of his jealousy. According to taiga, green (the mod) was favoring someone else’s chat instead of his’, even though green had already explained to taiga a long time ago that her availability schedule was incompatible with the times taiga streamed.

Taiga’s abusive and controlling behaviors have gotten so out of hand to a point that he believes that he can control our lives, telling me to stop playing games with some mods and regular viewers (who are close friends with me) so they can go watch / mod his stream.

While all the events shown more or less speak for themselves, some of the more vitriolic[a] encounters have been deleted by Taiga to avoid other mods from reading and finding out how toxic his behavior really is. What was presented were incidents other mods and myself were able to screenshot before deletion, or that were simply overlooked.

Every time any argument between the mods and taiga happened, it would get deleted ASAP so the other mods wouldn’t find out what happened, mainly because taiga was the one in the wrong in them, so he didn’t want to stain his reputation. Recently, after the events shown before happened, he decided to just remake the mod channel to avoid upcoming mods from seeing the shitshows from the past. The cycle is refreshed and ready to continue as seen in the cap below.

[a]possibly replace for the same reason as derision?
