MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Yearbook order forms are available in the MS/HS Office.

2. Any MS boy in grades 6-7 that would like to come to summer basketball camp should pick up a registration form in the MS office or the athletic office.  Forms are also available if you stop by Coach McClure's classroom.  A reminder that you must have a physical on file to participate.  See Coach McClure with any questions.

3.  Please sign up in the library if you plan on attending the DANCE on Wednesday,  May 24th from 3:30-5:15.   Pizza and pop will be served.  $5 entrance fee.  Students from other schools are not allowed to attend the dance.

4.  Recreation Nation is a group of volunteers focused on keeping youth active in the community.  There are several short summer camps that you may participate with this summer.  There is NO cost to these activities.    Activities are:   Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Tennis, Volleyball (coed) Softball, and Soccer.  These summer camps are in Decatur and are for grades 3-8.  Student could attend all camps if wanted.  If interested in participating in one of these activities, please pick up a registration form in the HS/MS office.

5. Any middle school boy or girl interested in Tennis Camp this summer, there are brochures in both the Athletic Office and MS office.  Please see Mr. Hower with any questions.

6. All 8th-11th grade boys interesting in playing tennis next fall there will be a call-out meeting this Thursday during SAP in Mr. Hower’s room

7.  Any 6th grade student interested in a summer Horse Camp sponsored by C & C Fellowship can pick up information in the MS Office..

8.  Anyone interested in the Adams Memorial Hospital Safe Sitter Class or to learn how to be safe while staying home alone can pick up information in the MS office.

9.  Anyone interested in Swiss City Dance Open House/Registration can pick up information in the MS office.

10. Reminder to boys in grades 6-7, please turn your basketball camp forms in to the office or Coach McClure by Thursday.

5. DATE CHANGE FOR CNA CLASSES. Attention high school students actively seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time job!  Swiss Village Retirement Community is now hiring Certified Nurse Assistants for 2nd shift. If you are not currently certified as a nursing assistant and would like to become certified, we are offering CNA class free of charge June 26-30, July 3, July 5-7 from 9:00AM-3:30PM

6. If you are interested in helping with the Adams County Vacation Bible School June 5-9 from 9am-Noon daily, please contact Mary McCullough mccullom@accs.k12.in.us or Sign up outside the HS/MS office.

8. Swiss Village is now hiring Jr. Food Service Aides for an orientation class on June 12th. Part-time, evening shift positions with flexible scheduling is available. No experience is required. Seeking candidates who are at least 15+ years of age. Accepting applications through May 22nd. Come join our team!!

9. Reminder to boys in grades 8-11 playing basketball next year.  The first day of team camp is next Thursday, June 1st, from 3:00-5:-00.  See Coach McClure if any questions.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION for 201718 SCHOOL YEAR

 The ENTIRE physical form needs to be filled out & signed prior to seeing the doctor.

Parents, please plan to accompany your student(s) to ensure your child’s eligibility.

                  

 Athletes must have a physical packet (physical, insurance, concussion/cardiac arrest forms) on file in the athletic office by June 1, 2017.   This includes all athletes in grades 6-12.  Anyone that is participating in open gyms or summer camps and/or a sport next school year must have these forms on file.

 

The ENTIRE form needs to be filled out prior to seeing the doctor.

 

The ENTIRE packet needs to be filled out prior to returning it to the Athletic Office.  Please make sure all information is filled out on page 4 of the physical packet.

There will parking for those who need assistance reserved as close as possible to the field, with limited golf cart shuttles available as well. If that area should fill we will create a drop off point, noted on map.   Overflow parking will be weather contingent, with grass areas used if dry and parking lots #3 (behind maintenance shed) and #2 (behind high school) used if grass is too soft.  Again limited golf cart shuttle available where needed.

ACCF/ Eric Mies Memorial Travel and Adventure Scholarship

The 2nd due date for this application is Wed., June 7, 2017 by 4:00 pm in the ACCF.

Priority is given, but not limited to Adams Central students or alumni.

*1st Due Date: by 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 12, 2017

(priority given to students that meet the April due date).

*2nd Due Date: by 4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 7, 2017

(late applications will not be considered).

 

This scholarship is designed to promote Travel and Adventure.  It will help offset the cost associated with the purchase of a passport and/or travel.

 

Eric, an Adams Central and DePauw University graduate, loved to travel the world.  His parents were always eager to go to the mailbox to retrieve postcards from him detailing his latest adventure from places such as India and Australia.

 

In 2012, while on yet another exciting adventure with his wife, Eric tragically lost his life in Cancun, Mexico.  This fund was set up by Eric's family and friends to memorialize his love of travel and adventure.  Through this fund, his passion for experiencing the world will continue for students of his alma mater, Adams Central.

Eligibility requirements for the Eric Mies Memorial Scholarship are:  Current Adams Central High School student or alumni, student is interested in exploring travel and adventure programs, and student plans to take a trip in the next twelve months.
