February 27, 2017:        World Language Workshop:  Transitioning from a Traditional   Classroom to a Comprehensible Input Classroom

This all-day workshop is designed to accomplish 3 objectives:

  1. Establish a rationale for transitioning from grammar-based, traditional World Language instruction to Comprehensible Input (CI) methods.
  2. Share lessons learned and techniques.
  3. Develop a minimum of 3 CI strategies that you can implement.

Participants will learn how to make modifications using textbook/worksheets to

create the following:

March 17, 2017:                STEM Education Resources Workshop

This workshop will help participants learn about aviation/aerospace-related STEM resources, lessons, and activities.  It will also provide an opportunity to explore the aerospace and aeronautics resources available to K-12 educators teaching science, technology, engineering, and math.  Jon Hiles, from the University of Nebraska-Omaha NASA Space Grant & EPSCoR will be the presenter for the morning.  This workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude with lunch.  You may register for this workshop by going to the ESU #11 website at www.esu11.org and clicking on the Register Here button located on the right side of the ESU home page.

March 27, 2017:                PE Workshop

This workshop will examine the new K-12 Physical Education standards that were recently developed while providing example outdoor activities and games relating to them.
