A chef d'oeuvre of the portraitist De Laszlo.

LONDON January

Next spring here in London, in a solo exhibition by the famous portrait painter Philip De Laszlo, the public will be able to admire a masterpiece that will incidentally be of great interest to our country. It will be the portrait of Prince Umberto in the role of Emanuele Filliberto. A famous English weekly magazine, the Illustrated London News, offers, in today's issue, the first colour reproduction of this painting is sure to arouse widespread curiosity and receive undoubted praise. All the exquisite artistry of the English painter, originally from Vienna, is encapsulated in the excellent design and vivid colours of this life-size portrait. The calm seriousness of our Crown Prince has been successfully interpreted by the distinguished portraitist, who this time has created the most magical head that has ever come from his brushes.  The Prince's costume is the same one he wore in the recent Carousel in Turin. According to the aforementioned weekly magazine, the painter Laszlo had received a personal invitation from Prince Umberto to Turin for the picturesque occasion. In fact, he had been commissioned to paint this portrait, which the heir to the throne intends to give to the King and Queen. Faced with such a handsome and robust young man, Laszlo had clearly felt young again himself. and you would never guess that the creator of this magnificent portrait is about to turn 60. In fact, his solo exhibition, announced for next April, will be open in celebration of Laszlo's 60th birthday.
