St. Patrick’s day. 1920.

My darling Pauli,

Indeed I’ve neglected you lately, although you have not been far from my mind  Has Stef[1] not shown you the letters I sent him? Well now for news.

I am at Bournemouth, staying with Aunt Amy[2] for 3 nights  Dads[3] send me your last letter which I have open before me

So glad to hear how well you are progressing  of  course I know the work in the form

you are in, is far below that the standard you had at Twyford. But I’m sure you are apply-ing your ‘brains’ which your report testified to! & with brains, application & good will, you are sure to get rewards rapidly.

I left home on Saturday & first went to see Pat.[4] He is looking A.1. I saw Mr [McD?]. he asked after you, & Pat & I visited Mr [Wickham?]. He was v. nice, also asked after you & Stef. It came on to rain, & Mr W. lent Pat & me an umbrella each & we sallied forth over the fields

you know so well, to the Bridle Hotel. We had a nice talk & nice tea  Pat feels much happier this term  He is playing golf now, & I brought him 2 balls & a new golf club. I only had about 2 hours with him, & very nice they were  Then I caught train to Farnham & drove out to The Willows[5]  

Aunt Eva[6] & Aunt Molly[7]

were there  Aunt Giraffe[8] comes home today  Dear Aunt Eves[9] did all the work & made us so comfy.

Here it is v. nice  On Friday I go to Aunt Hen[10] at Torquay & on Monday I return home.

It is a nice rest being away from the hustle of London.

Aunt Eves told me of the lovely bike rides you had,
