Good Evening, this is Mrs. Weinhold, Principal of Broad Creek Middle School with a few important announcements for the first week of school.

The first bell rings at 7:35 with the tardy bell ringing at 7:45.  We dismiss first load of buses and car riders at 2:56.

If you are dropping students off you enter the campus on the neighborhood side of the school and follow the signs.  Pull up as close to the sign requesting cars to stop as possible.  Wait for a staff member to motion for students to exit the vehicles beginning at 7:10.  Follow pavement markings to exit property with those traveling west going straight to the stop sign and those traveling east turning through the visitor parking to exit property.  This is the same procedure for afternoon pickup.  Only buses drop off in the main front parking lot.

Tomorrow only - students should go to their homeroom or breakfast after exiting the bus or car.  After tomorrow, in the mornings students go to the cafeteria, media center or gym when exiting buses or cars.  Students stay in the first selected location until the first bell rings at 7:35.

We have a new student Cell Phone Policy this year. Cell phones should be out of sight and turned off BEFORE students enter the building and should be kept in student lockers.  Students should NOT remove phones from the locker or have them out prior to exiting the building at dismissal unless directed to by a staff member.  Thank you for understanding and supporting this at home.

Good Evening, this is Mrs. Weinhold, Principal of Broad Creek Middle School with a few important announcements.

Volunteer training will be Thursday, Sept. 10 at 8:15am in the Media Center.

As we move into the 3rd week of school, students should be accustomed to the transition between classes and be arriving on time. Classroom tardies result in Bullpen referrals. Likewise, it is important for students to arrive on time to school.  Your support in protecting instructional time is greatly appreciated.

Candy Man Fundraiser will begin this Wednesday, September 9th.

Games this week include an away game for Girls Soccer at Newport Middle School and Football against Tucker Creek at Croatan High School - both games are Thursday and start at 4pm.

Picture Day is scheduled for September 14th - next Monday.

Any boy in the 6th grade looking for a great opportunity to be a part of something fun and rewarding may register for STRIDE online at nckidsrun.org. You will need to create an account with the Wilmington Family YMCA in order to register. The season runs 2 days a week beginning September 21 through December 5th with a finishing 5k at Jacksonville Commons Elementary. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and will only take the first 20 applicants. Registration runs thru Thursday, September 17th.  Contact Mr. Miles for more information.

We should all be into our school routine by this time. A vital part of this routine should be the daily completion of Homework.  Homework is an extension of classwork, and it is important in your student's success.

Students remember our PBIS expectations - Be motivated, Create a positive environment,  Make responsible choices and Show respect for self and others! Have a great evening and Go Bulldogs!
