From The Principal
Kia ora tatou katoa, Annyong Haseyo, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Bula vi naka, Kia orana Nga mihi nui ki a koutou, Namaste, Nihao, Greetings to you all.
Welcome to our fortnightly newsletter. Our school is off to a great start for 2015 with 55 new enrolments. It is really exciting to see our children integrating well with each other in the playground and classrooms.
Thank you to all those parents and whanau who attended the Parent Information Evenings (PIES) over the last two days. We appreciate your comments regarding your child/rens education and we are happy to discuss any of your concerns.
Regarding the boys wearing socks under their track pants in winter, we will be ordering short blue socks from our supplier in preparation for this season and we will advise you of their arrival in the uniform shop.
Thank you to all those wonderful parents who have taken advantage of our $30.00 discount by paying the Parent contribution before the end of March. We use this money to provide extra exciting programmes for the children at Elm Park.
Thank you to all those parents who attended the discussion in the Auditorium for the trial classes for BYOD (Bring Your Own Devices). We were very happy to hear your positive responses to our ideas. We have heard that very soon Secondary children will be expected to work on computers for their exams, therefore we feel that we are preparing our children for the future. If you have any further questions regarding this trial and the equipment please contact Belinda Johnston (577 0194)
The road works continue to encroach on our traffic flow up and down Gossamer Drive and apparently we will be dealing with this for the rest of the term. Thank you for your patience. Please encourage your children to use the pedestrian crossing at all times to ensure their safety. Remember that we have Walking School Buses as well. Contact Karen Allen (5770191) for further information.
Our school GALA will be Sunday 22 March from 10 am – 2 pm. We are receiving lots of goodies to sell. We look forward to your continued support on the day.
Our school messages are placed on Facebook and Skoolbag (iphone and Andriod app) that gives you regular updates, watch for additions or changes.
Have a lovely weekend.

Sancta Maria Catholic Primary School host a Summer Fair and the time is now upon us for our 2015 event. We are aiming for this to be an annual community occasion rather than just a school event.
This year our fair will be held on Saturday the 7th March 2015 from 10am - 2pm.
There will be bouncy castles, raffles, cultural foods, games for the kids, second hand goods and so much more. As we will be operating on a ticket only basis, these can be purchased anytime from the school office to avoid ques or on the day.
CITY RIDING SCHOOL offers horse riding lessons on our horses and ponies. All ages and abilities are catered for. We have after school lessons with after school pickup available for 5 or more children. Weekend lessons and school holiday programmes are also available.
