Sent to be the Good News, the hope that we proclaim.
Sent to be the Good News, serve others in God’s name.
We will shout it from the rooftops, with faith we will arise.
We will speak the Word and witness with our lives.
Sent to be the Good News, we’re sent to be the Good News.
School Council Meeting
The St. Stephen Catholic School Council will be holding their next meeting on Tuesday, May 23rd. All interested parents are welcome to attend the meeting, which will begin in the school staff room at 6:30pm. More information about the council can be found at: http://ste.ocsb.ca/catholic-school-council.
A reminder to parents to make sure they are not parking at the Jackson Trails Condominiums, located beside the school, when they are dropping off or picking up students. The road at the complex is a fire route, so parents parking on that road risk getting tickets or getting towed.
The Ultimate Frisbee tournament will be taking place on Tuesday, May 16th, at St. Mark’s High School. Best of luck to all of the team members. Go Stallions!
On Wednesday, May 17th, twenty leaders from the P.A.L.S. program at our school will be attending the annual Peace Festival at St. Paul High School. The goal of the conference is to challenge students to recognize the power they have to make their schools into communities where all students feel welcome. It is a way to highlight and celebrate the many practices used to build and maintain safe schools. It will definitely be a wonderful experience for all of the participants.
EQAO - Grades 3 & 6
A reminder that EQAO testing will begin next week. The Grade 3 and Grade 6 students will be working on Math and Language tasks from Tuesday, May 23rd to Monday, June 5th. It is very important that students arrive at school on time and that, if possible, no appointments are booked for those days. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
PD Day and Victoria Day
A reminder that Friday, May 19th is a PD Day. There will be no school that day as the teachers will be participating in a variety of professional development activities. Also, Monday, May 22nd is Victoria Day. It is a holiday, so the school will not be open. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend with friends and family.
