CWE Cocktail Party, featuring a classic cocktail competition
Compete for a spot in a classic cocktail competition, sponsored by Major Brands, to be held on SATURDAY, JUNE 4 during the inaugural Central West End Cocktail Party. The final bartender standing on June 4 will receive $250 in CWE Bucks, a night at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel and a complimentary breakfast. To be considered, present a signature cocktail using one of the provided Major Brands spirits (see list below) during our preliminary rounds at 4 p.m. MONDAY, MAY 16, in the Barrel Room at Gamlin Whiskey House (236 N. Euclid Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108).

Criteria | Description | Possible Points |
Name | A drink’s name is crucially important to its saleability; points will be awarded with this in mind. | 0-5 |
Balance | A perfectly balanced cocktail is key to its success. | 0-5 |
Simplicity | Judges will consider how easily the recipe can be replicated and the number of ingredients used. | 0-5 |
Presentation | The glass and general visual appearance of a cocktail and garnish affect its appeal. Points will be awarded accordingly. | 0-5 |
Aroma | The aroma of the cocktail should be appealing and enticing. | 0-5 |
Taste | A cocktail should be pleasing. Is this one just palatable, refreshing or is it truly delicious? | 0-10 |
Originality | Competitors must present original drinks. Points will be awarded for innovative methods and ingredients. | 0-10 |
Delivery | Interaction between bartender and customer is fundamental to good service and so judges should reward efficient, stylish and hygienic preparation as well as a confident and entertaining delivery with commentary that demonstrates knowledge. | 0-5 |
