DLA002-0063 Translation
Paris, 69 rue des Dames,
the 28 nov. 1900.
Sir and Dear Master,
The essay that I have written about you,[1] needs, to be illustrated in the Vatican Cosmos Catholicus, the photograph of the portrait of Pope Leo XIII [4509], made after your painting.
I have already explained to you the reasons for such a request. May I also ask you to enclose a good copy

of the study for this portrait [6029]. The Studio in London published it in its 15th of September issue.[2] We wish to reproduce it too, next to the reproduction of the finished portrait.
If you prefer sending half-tone engravings, have them done to those dimensions:
Portrait 0.11 or .12 x 0.15 or 0.16
Study (smaller dimensions)
Marquis Mac Swiney[3] intends to publish this essay in the 15th December Cosmos. There is therefore no time to waste.

Please write me a note by return of post to tell me what you would like to do.
With my distinguished compliments,
Boyer d’Agen
I will soon devote an article to you in the Revue Illustrée, making use of the documents that you have already sent me.
