***** POINT SYSTEM *****
Cancellation scoring - in cancellation scoring, corn bags in the hole and corn bags on the playing surface, pitched by opponents during an inning, cancel each other out. Only non cancelled corn bags are counted in the score for the inning
3 points for a cornhole bag that goes through the hole
1 point for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface
1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging in the hole or off the edge but not touching the ground.
***** GAME PLAY *****
Opening coin flip-in doubles play, the coin toss winner has the choice of which side of the boards to play from. The coin toss winner also decides who pitches first.
Position of players - in doubles play, each player’s partner is directly across from them in the opposite box at the other board. So each team has one player throwing from the left pitchers box and one from the right.
Each player is assigned a pitchers box and is required to pitch from there the entire game.
Each cornhole team will have 4 bags of the same color, all 8 bags begin at one end.
The team who has honors will begin throwing a cornhole bag at the opposite cornhole board.
Alternate throws between the two opponents until all 8 cornhole bags have been thrown.
If a cornhole bag hits the ground then bounces up onto the board, remove that bag for it doesn't count.
Count the points during the round, if no team has reached the 21 point mark start the next round until a team reaches 21.
The team that scores the most points on the previous round will have honors.
The first team to 21 wins. You do not have to win by 2 and there is no "mercy" or "shucked" rule.
The match can never end in the middle of an inning. If a team that pitches first reaches or exceeds 21 points, the game can not end until the other side is allowed to pitch all of their corn bags and the inning is completed.
The following rule violations, if spotted by an official or player, will result in a foul bag and the bag will be removed from the board surface before any more bags are pitched;
(Note: Bags knocked into foul territory by a foul bag should be returned as closely as possible to their original position. This includes bags that are knocked into the hole by a foul bag.)
A bag that is accidently dropped by a player before the final forward swing has started shall not be considered a dead bag and may be picked up and pitched.
A player’s bag shall be called a dead bag if the player removes it before scoring of that bag has been agreed upon.
An official or neutral player shall be called if a decision cannot be reached.
