Hello, my name is Dennis LeRoy Pearson.

Born and raised in both Allentown and Lehigh County and still officially residing in my childhood home, I welcome the opportunity to become your Lehigh County Commissioner for District # 3.

I am seeking the seat now currently held by David Jones whom has decided to vacate this seat in January in hopes of winning public office in Allentown ... and I thank David for his years of service on the Lehigh County commissioners.

I am a hard-working and creative community leader whom has demonstrated great ability for 41 years in improving neighborhood livability for the East Allentown Rittersville Neighborhood Association.

Spending most of my adult life working in Bethlehem with the former Bethlehem Steel and receiving my Graduate Degree from Lehigh University; and, spending a later period of my adult life serving as a day to day teacher throughout the Lehigh Valley including Phillipsburg, New Jersey which I had of pleasure of teaching social Studies today in its Middle School.

I run for office because I want to do the right thing for the people of Lehigh County and the people of District 3 in regarding to fiscal accountability, maintenance and rebuilding of county roads, bridges, parks and building infrastructure, including the County Nursing homes.

Although I live in a primarily urban district of Lehigh County, I am deeply interested with the concerns and needs of those living in the rural areas that engage in the business of agriculture.

At its heart, economic development is about building healthy economies in order to have healthy communities.. And certainly we want healthy and economically diverse communities.

But farm and ranch lands provide food and cover for wildlife, help control flooding, protect wetlands and watersheds, and maintain air quality. They can absorb and filter wastewater and provide groundwater recharge. ... And importantly,  Farmland provides fiscal stability to local governments and does provide a boost to the economy.

Therefore, promoting the idea of the preservation of farmland is not a concept that has seen its day. It is a concept as valid today as it was yesterday and will still be valid tomorrow.

Important too, are county services related to Aging, children and youth services, welfare and other human services such as Veterans Affairs.

And of course, one of the most essential needs of County government is to provide appropriate support for its Court of common Pleas which includes its Civil, Criminal, domestic relations, family, orphan and juvenile divisions and all the Correctional Services offered.

Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act ... And as a member of the flag day association I stood in Judge Reibman's Court room many times to welcome the new citizens that Judge Reibman gave the oath of citizenship.

In regard to my social values --- I say this ... I agree with the Late Rev. Martin Luther King  who said: : I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

And why not, we are all created in God's Image... Therefore we should  all be treated with respect and dignity unless a person's actions against the good and welfare of society lead them to act in such away to deserve a different treatment more precautionary treatment.

In running for County Commissioner,

I offer commitment, dedication, hard work and experience and importantly Common Sense. But more importantly I offer a lifetime of preparation which will enable me to serve as an active member of the Lehigh County Commissioners on day one.

The truth being, Dennis LeRoy Pearson is your must choice to be your County Commissioner.. The reason --- it is my time to serve ... The waiting period for me is over.
