K1USN SST OPEN         Using 3830.scores.com

Thanks to Bruce WA7BNM you can upload results to the 3830scores.com website. The procedure is simple.

The data entered into 3830 comes from the Score Summary window in N1MM Logger+ (or from any other log including paper)

The N1MM Logger+ Score window looks like this:

This window shows QSO’s, Points (Pts), States/Provinces (S/P), DXCC countries (DXc) and Points per QSO.

The Points Pt/Q is an interesting statistic but isn’t required for 3830 submission.

The process for the SST OPEN is the same as the SST. Go to 3830scores.com and look on the left side for the Submittal Form. Click on the K1USN SST OPEN.

In this example the fields have been filled with data from N1DC. For the SST OPEN you select Class and pick the Maximum CW Speed used during the event. We assume this speed was used for the entire 4 hours (it’s honor system based). Remember we are trying to promote and encourage slower CW speeds.

In the example,  N1DC Operated as a Single Op LP at 14 wpm and had 10 QSO’s and 9 Mults on 40M, 31 QSO’s and 22 Mults on 20M and 1 QSO and 2 Mults on 15M. This data comes from the N1MM Logger + Score Window. Remember Multipliers are the total of States + Provinces + DXCC Countries. The total QSOS =42 and the TOTAL Mults = 33 with a speed Mult of 2.

The score IS NOT 42 x 33 x 2.  The actual score is 192 x 33 x 2 = 12,672.  This is because there were 3 K1USN QSO’s worth 50 points each captured by N1MM Logger. The calculation is (42 +150) x 33 x 2 = 12,672

The score has to be calculated and entered manually into 3830.

If you want an email summary of your submission enter your email address in the window. If you are a member of a Club, select the club name from the drop down. If your club is not listed, you can enter it by selecting Other (as shown above) and typing the club name in the box.

You can add comments about your experience in the Comments window.

If you make a mistake on the form you can go back and correct it or clear the entire form and start over. You can also make a correction after submitting it by filling it out again and clicking the Correct Previous Submission button.

NOTE:  VERY IMPORTANT   Submit your Score within 2 days of the end of the event. This means the score needs to be submitted by 2359 on Sunday. If you don’t, your score will not be included in the summary.

After filling out this form click the Submit Score to 3830 Reflector button at the bottom. Your submission will be added to the list of participants and included in the summary.

To view the summary click on the K1USN SST OPEN under Summaries of Current Contests

There are many nice features in this website. At the top right side of 3830.scores.com you can enter your own callsign (or any other) and look at historical submissions. It’s interesting to look back at previous contests.

You can sort the Summary by Class/Power, Your Location or your own Club name.
