Hi Minister Blair. My name is _________. Do not deport pandemic healthcare hero Carlo Escario tomorrow Aug 5. Carlo has earned his place in Canada as a healthcare worker. His home is in Scarborough and he is your constituent. Deportation is too cruel for his circumstance.

Minister Mendcino’s Phone Number: (416) 781-5583

Leave this message:

Hi Minister Mendicino. My name is _______. I am urging you to grant Carlo Escario, a migrant Filipino health worker, a permit to stay in Canada as a Temporary Resident before his deportation TOMORROW. I know you rejected his deferral for removal despite him being a hero during the pandemic. Manilla will be going into lockdown on Friday and it is unsafe. Carlo earned his place in Canada.

SUBJECT: URGENT! Don’t Deport Healthcare Hero Carlo Escario tomorrow, Aug 5!

Dear Minister Mendicino, Minister Blair, and the Public Safety Canada office

The pandemic is not over. The government should not be deporting people - especially those who provided services in the ICU. Carlo has taken responsibility for his omission on his application and earned his place in this country. His home and life is in Scarborough. Deportation is disproportionately cruel for his mistake and Manila will be going into lockdown because of the Delta Variant. I am concerned for Carlo’s safety. This is unjustifiably cruel.

I know that you both have full discretion regarding Carlo’s application and physical removal from the country. I am angry his application to defer his removal was rejected and that despite his TRP application being expedited, no action has been taken. The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship must grant Carlo Escario Temporary Resident Status as per his application before his removal date TOMORROW August 5, 2021. The Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness needs to halt Carlo’s deportation altogether.

Carlo Escario is a hero to Canadians. If he’s good enough to work in Canada, he’s good enough to stay.

Yours sincerely,

[your name]
