Children will discuss the different types of trucks and their function.  

Children will experiment how the weight on a dump truck affects how fast or slow the wheels will move.

What are dump trucks used for?

- Read Aloud

- Whole Group: Use pictures to identify different types of trucks and their function.

- Whole Group: Make a prediction chart. Will a dump truck go faster down a ramp with or without animals?

- Small Group: Experiment by building a ramp and use wooden blocks to represent the animals.   Record findings and then compare predictions.

- Do you think the dump truck will go faster with no animals, a few animals, or all of the animals?

- What is happening to the truck each time an animal is added?

- Do your predictions match the outcome of your experiment?
