Steps to Recharter and/or Start a New Club

for the 2025-2026 School Year

Club Council Meeting #1 Slide Deck

Please send all rechartering forms to cavclubs@gmail.com and CC your club advisor

  1. Deadline: As Soon As Possible

Club Application & Constitution Guidelines:

  1. Combined Club Constitution and Application (make a copy)

  1. Example of Completed Constitution and Application
  1. MUST be in all black ink, once you type in your information in the red sections change everything to black ink.
  2. MUST include Club Advisor Name and Signature
  1. The Club Advisor must be present at ALL meetings
  1. MUST only fill out what is in red ink, do not fill out the signatures that are in black
  2. MUST have a complete list of club officers.
  3. MUST include meeting dates and times.
  1. CANNOT hold meetings during staff professional development time on Tuesdays after-school, or on Tuesdays at lunch (reserved for Class Council Meetings Only)
  2. MUST include social media site information (or any other mode of communication) and school room number.
  3. Social Media accounts for the club, organization, or team must adhere to the Grover Cleveland Charter High School Social Media Responsible Use Policy for School-Approved Clubs and Organizations.
  4. All in-person meetings and social media accounts where discussions on current events will take place should have a disclaimer stating the following:
  1. The views expressed here are those of individual students and not necessarily the opinions of the school. Other students are welcome to contribute to the discussion. Please keep all comments respectful.
  1. When sending in the paperwork, please CC your advisor into the email thread

Creating New Clubs:

  1. CANNOT resemble or serve the same purpose as an existing club or organization at Cleveland
  2. Follow all Club Application & Constitution Guidelines

Advertising Club/Organization Flyer

Create a link (instructions below) to a PDF Flyer to post on Social Media stating the following:

  1. Club Advisor's Name
  2. A brief version of the club/organization’s Purpose
  3. Room Number
  4. Meeting Dates/Time
  5. Contact Information (LAUSD Email or club email)

How to Convert PDF Flyer into a Link

  1. Save your pdf flyer (guidelines above) into Google drive
  2. On Google drive, hover over the flyer pdf file
  3. Right click on the pdf flyer file
  4. Click “get link”
  5. Once the menu pops up, change link settings from “restricted” to “anyone with the link can access”
  6. Copy the link
  7. Have your club representative paste the link in an email to cavclubs@gmail.com along with your application and constitution document

Reminders:

Once you have sent in the combined application/constitution form and a link to the Advertising Flyer PDF, please remember the following:

  1. DO NOT advertise/hold club meetings before the club is rechartered and/or approved by ASB for this school year.
  2. The Club Advisor must be present in ALL club meetings
  3. All club fundraisers must have prior approval from ASB and school administration two weeks before the fundraiser and before advertising the fundraiser.
  4. Club Presidents/Club Council Representative must attend Club Council Meetings

Fundraising (not required for rechartering/chartering and disregard for Back to School Night)

All clubs/organizations/teams that want to fundraise must have a re-chartered or be approved as a new approved club/organization and must submit and get approved for the fundraiser at least two weeks before the fundraiser is to be held and/or advertised.
