How to Complete Discussion Forums
During this course, you will be required to participate in discussion forums. Here are some basic ideas to know to participate in forums.

  1. Read the instructions in the discussion forum. Read through the instructions in the assignment detailing the number of points the assignment is worth and how many posts are required for the assignment. Many discussion forums will require you to make multiple posts.
  2. Discussion forums use threads. The threads keep the discussion forums organized. You will see the various threads in a forum displayed below the assignment directions. Each thread is a link. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a page where you can view the post and have the option to reply.

    Your teacher may ask you to start a new thread or to reply to threads already created. Read the assignment directions carefully.

  3. Each post will display the writer's name. Discussion forums are not anonymous. Your name will appear next to each of your posts.
  4. You can edit your writing within one minute of posting. You may find you want to edit your post after you have submitted. Simply click on your post and select edit. The normal editing functions such as spell check are also present in the discussion forums. Please take advantage of these functions to improve your writing.

  1. You can read all the posts in the discussion forum. The purpose of the discussion forum is to hold discussions about the content in the course. Please participate in the forums. You are able to see all posts made in the forums from both the teacher and students.
