Set Google Drive Preferences to automatically convert uploaded

Microsoft documents to Google Doc/Spreadsheet format.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Settings button in the upper-right corner.

  1. If the drop-down menu looks like this one below and to the right - select Experience the new Drive before step 3.
  2. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.

  1. Check the box next to “Convert uploaded files to Google Docs editor format”

  1. Click Done.
