Set Google Drive Preferences to automatically convert uploaded
Microsoft documents to Google Doc/Spreadsheet format.
Follow these steps:
- Click on the Settings button in the upper-right corner.
- If the drop-down menu looks like this one below and to the right - select Experience the new Drive before step 3.
- Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Check the box next to “Convert uploaded files to Google Docs editor format”
- Click Done.
