A Birthday Cake for Grandma

What was the family tradition the children wanted to follow?

The family tradition the children wanted to follow was making a birthday cake for grandma.

Do you have any family traditions that your family follow?  If so, what are they?  If not, do you know any examples of family traditions?  

 christmas because it  celebrates jesus´s birth.

A family tradition is when a  family carry on a tradition for a another family member that goes away and never comes back

Why does Mum rub the Lucy’s arm on page 23?

Mum rub lucy arm Because grandma made the cake for him even when she was very sick.

Was Grandma a good cook?  How do you know?

Grandma was a good cook because josh cat sponge cake was so yum that he licked his lips to get all of it in his tummy.

Where is Grandma?  How do you know?

Grandma is in heaven because at the end of the book they were standing in front of a grave stone

Were there some clues in the story that tell us that Grandma had died?

Mum picking flowers,at the end you can see them stand in front of a grave

Who do you think is going to eat the birthday cake?

I think it is going to be Mum,lucy and josh that is going to eat the birthday cake.

Have you ever had a special birthday cake made for you?  What was it and who made it?

I had a special birthday cake made for me it was a happy rainbow cake made by my mum.
