Re:        Course Reserves - Policy and Procedures

Please follow the procedures in the enclosed course reserve packet so we can process your course reserve readings as quickly as possible. Photocopies or personal copies of books will be held on reserve at the Library & Study Commons on the 4th floor of Building 38.

For Books owned by Treadwell Library

Please note that as of Fall 2014, Treadwell no longer has a physical collection and does not purchases physical books. However, you may request that they purchase an e-book for your course. Please email us if you’d like to make a purchase request. They are able to fill most orders within weeks. Occasionally an item is difficult to obtain and may require several months to fill, or a book may not available in an electronic format that can be purchased by libraries.

For Photocopies and Personal Copies of Books

  1. Please submit all photocopies and personal copies of books to Liz Bolduc in B38 430.
  2. Mark all items clearly with the course name, number, and faculty.
  3. Hard copies of books will be labeled with a course reserves label and barcode.
  4. If you are submitting multiple photocopied items for a course, please put them in a three-ring binder.
  5. You may only submit one copy of each article/chapter.
  6. Please ensure all copyright requirements have been met before submitting articles for reserves (generally, first time use does not require permission, but all subsequent uses require explicit permission from the publisher/copyright holder). Please see Copyright Basics.
  7. If you have additional questions, please contact the IHP Library Assistant, Liz Bolduc at ext. 3-6685 or
