                Dr.V.Nagarajan, Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, Melmaruvathur is an erudite and renowned academic scholar, a high profile scientist researcher, an able administrator, a great visionary and a socially conscious innovator.

 

                He was born in the year 1977 at puducherry. His father Shri.N.Velmurugan and mother Thirumathi Visalatchi Velmurugan are very simple. He had his school education in Municipal Schools at Puducherry.

 

                He did his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering at VRS Engineering College, Madras University, Master degree in ECE at the Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry. He received his Ph.D. from Pondicherry University in recognizing his significant contribution in the area of Wireless Communication. He won the IEEE-HIPC -2008 Best Research paper award for his Ph.D. work titled, “Game theoretic Approach in MIMO MC/DS CDMA System”.

 

                Dr.V.Nagarajan has made remarkable achievement in the areas of teaching, research, invention and extension activities. Starting from a modest career as a Lecturer in an Engineering College, he rose to the present position of Professor at Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, a premier technical institution. He had guiding many dissertations and a research project in Wireless Communication and Digital signal Processing and has 80 Paper to his credit in reputed journals and various conference proceedings. He had teaching and research experience of 15 years.

 

                Dr.V.Nagarajan is a celebrated member of Professional bodies such as Indian society of Technical education in New Delhi, Life Associate member of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in New Delhi, Life member for international association of computer science and information technology in Singapore.

 

                Dr.V.Nagarajan was instrumental to conduct the AICTE sponsored One Day National seminar on Research Challenges in MIMO OFDM systems and Fifteen days staff development program on Application of Digital Filter in Digital signal processing problem.

 

                Dr.V.Nagarajan has been nominated as a Member of Board of Studies (both UG and PG) of S.R.M University. He is associated with various NGO’s and voluntary organizations working in the field of Wireless communication. His areas of interest include: Wireless communication, Wireless sensor Networks, Digital signal processing etc.

 

                He is a convener of National Conference on Power, Information and communication systems (PICOM-2011), AICTE sponsored IEEE International Conference on Communication and signal processing (ICCSP’12) and IEEE International Conference on Communication and signal processing (ICCSP’13). He is an approved Research supervisor of various universities and doctoral committee member in many universities, Advisory Committee member of National Conference on Communication system, RMK Engg College (NCC-2011), Chennai. M.               DETAILS OF OTHER ACADEMIC CONTRIBUTIONS, EXTENSION AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AND SELF-APPRAISAL REPORT

 

For the past decade (14 years), I have been contributing steadily and considerably to the society in general and the technical education in particular, in almost all spheres of activities. I present below the details of my contribution to academic development activities (Curricular, Co-Curricular and Extracurricular) - to the college and department in which I have served and in which I am serving now.

·         In Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, Melmaruvathur, from 1999 to 2006, I have served as a sincere and dedicated teacher. I have made significant contribution to the development of the college in various dimensions.

·         Many of the UG/PG projects guided by me are industry-sponsored projects.

·         More than twenty projects have been guided for UG students.

·         Nearly twenty major and mini projects have been guided successfully for the PG students in the past Five years.

·         Out of the above projects, many projects have been awarded with “S” and “A” grade and also best project award.

·         As the coordinator of the PG projects/seminar, I always encourage the students to go for live industrial problems, and help them also to get such projects.

·         Under the auspicious of Communication Club organized Invited lectures, field visits to students.
