Children will demonstrate that water flows down a slope.

What did you learn about how water moves?

Science Experiment

- Whole Group: Make predictions about how water moves on paper.

- Small Group: Children will demonstrate how to drip water on paper using an eyedropper.  Then they will use the tray as a slide and observe the water and demonstrate that as water moves downhill, the steeper the slope of the paper, the faster the water moves.

- Whole Group: Record observations on chart paper.

- How does the water move and where will it go?

- Does it move faster or slower when you hold the tray like a slide?

- Do you think the water on flat paper would flow faster or slower than when we held the paper straight up and down?
