Hi guys, I’m Raih’a Dakwil, a Lalafell popoto from Tonberry. I created this document to collect all the already “known” or “spoke out” information from the team and Yoshi-P himself about the what and will be planned for the long future ahead of FFXIV, for friends and families. There might be some correct that will be happen, some will be out-of-date as the team may remove the idea, so unless it’s in the “Patch” section, don’t let your hype train go too high. (no more Add-on ; ___ ; )

- Main Scenario continuation.

⧫ Additional Content

- Major update to Diadem:

+ Heavily updates to pre-exisitng exploratory missions: Hunting and Gathering.

+ Diadem will be unavailable when 3.5 hit, but will available soon in 3.5x, which marked the new face of Diadem.

+ The map won’t change much, but there will be differences in where you can/can’t go.

+ The new version will have clearly objectives assigned for players, instead of enjoy the content the way they want like the old version.

+ There will be some suprises, for example boss battles involve the entire map area. Some enemies will be tough to beat down. They require four parties.

+ Currently achievements from old Diadem will still be available when new version hit. They will adjust these achievements to fit with the new Diadem.

+ The content will be split for DoW/M and DoL.

+ Current material or other items will also be available. Equiment will also have the same old random stats format.

+ Anomalous Elements: Multiple battle events will occur spontaneously. Special raid in specific area will happened once certain limit has been reached. There will be also large boss.

- Zhloe Aliapoh.

+ A new type of Chloe’s content for Crafter/Gatherer only.

+ By accept requests for collectable items from certain NPCs, you can raise the satisfaction level for those characters.

+ Glamour element will also be a part of Zhloe’s, as it’s the main theme for this content.

+ In the future, more clients will appear.


↜=↝ Patch 4.0 Expansion - Stormblood ↜=↝

- Will be release June 20th, 2017. Pre-oder begins Jan. 24th, 2017.

- New main theme song by Nobuo Uematsu, title ‘Revolutions’.

- No new race. It may be happen in 5.0.

- Collector’s Edition:

+ Will have Zenos figure alongside the game copy.

+ Eorzea cloth map.

+ Stormblood artbook.

+ Ingame items: Syldra mount + Bartz Minion + Red Mage mainhand: Chicken Knife

⧫ Main Scenario

- Main Scenario: Explore the lands of Ala Mhigo.

+ Fighting back the Garlean to bring peace to Ala Mhigan.

+ Story about Garlean was hinted may go up to 6.0.

- Allowing some of the content can be access freely without the need of completing ARR like what happened in HW.

- New areas. Featuring the hamlet Rhalger’s Reach, the head quarter of Ala Mhigo’s Resistant, as one of the new area, also the beginning place of the new story.

⧫ Additional Content

- Level cap raised from 60 to 70.

+ The flow of progression will be the same like 4.0.

+ The ratio between side quests and MSQ will be adjusted this time compare with how it was function in the past, and the exp from MSQ will be increased to be more proportional.

+ The skill cap will also be the same when you reached level 60.

+ New skills for 4.0 is aiming toward the idea of making it much better and more fun. Obtaining these skills might be different than usual.

- All 4.0 areas will be flyable.

+ Players will need to collect the aetherial attunement like in HW.

+ It will be easier than finding Moogles.

- New Feature: Swimming & Diving

+ Swimming will begin automatically upon entering a suitable bodies of water outfit (only for some). Walking movement will perform breaststroke, while spriting will perform crawl.

+ Swimming will be available to some ARR areas.

+ Diving will be available to 4.0 areas only. You won’t be drowning.

+ Movement speed will be slower compare to land walk.

+ There will be no combat while swimming/diving.

+ There will be NPC interactions, gathering content related, especially for Fisher.

+ All flying mounts will be able to swim and dive.

+ No loading times when go into this mode.

- New Dungeons.

- New High-end Raids - Omega - The Bend of Time.

+ Planning for 2 levels this time: Normal/Savage.

+ They are discussing for the next difficult that can satisfies hardcore players. It will be beyond Savage Mode.

+ It will feel like a very final fantasy esque raid.

- New Alliance Raids - Return to Ivalice.

+ They want to try something new. And this time they invited special guest creators to design the content: Yasumi Matsuno & Keita Amemiya.

+ Matsuno will bring the themes of Ivalice to Eorzea and Amemiya will create the enemies.

- New Jobs.

+ Red Mage (RDM) - Ranged DPS. Weapon: Rapier + Magicked Crystal Medium. Main Attribute: Withheld.

+ Samurai (SAM) - Melee DPS. Weapon: Katana.

+ Red magic is a hybrid of white+black magic. The rapier will deliver melee physical auto-attacks. They will perform chainspell to build up magickal power, unleashing the stored energy through melee assault.

+ Samurai is a close, solo DPS dealing massive damage. They use traditional Far Eastern swordplay techniques, “Iai”. They also master the art of “Sen” and its three forces “Setsu” (snow), “Getsu” (moon), “Ka” (flower). They store energy in their katana and use it to unleash special attack.

+ Even though RDM dual wielding Rapier and Magicked Crystal, they are counts as 1 instead of 2 like PLD.

+ RDM quest will begin in Ul’dah. SAM quest will begin in Eorzea.

+ Same as 3.0, there will be no base Class.

+ They begin at level 50.

+ Secret hinted about new Egi for SMN.

+ New job will be hinted on Fanfest Tokyo. (Not confirmed which job will be added. Hinted!)

+ No new roles in 4.0.

- All New Primals + Beast Tribes.

+ The Ananta, and their Primal Lakshmi - The Lady of Bliss.

+ An underwater race inhabiting the mountains near Ala Mhigo, made up solely of females, currently oppressed by the Garleans, but has been existed since Allagan era. They are extremely adept at magicks and gemcrafts.

+ The Kojin, and their Primal Susano - Lord of the Revel.

+ A new race with appearance of tortoise-like. They commonly found in Ruby Sea. They are skillsed with traders. They live mostly underwater. They believe unique gods (kami) reside in all things. And they collect and horde rare items that house powerful kami.

+ The Primals that will appear will be somehow illustrated different from what players have seen so far from the summoning by beast tribes.

- Expanse of the world map. Now you can travel to the continent of Othard. It locates at the right side of Ilsabard, the continent of Garlean Empire.

- New city - Kugane.

+ Kugane is a port town on the southern tip island chain of Hingashi. The only port open to foreign trade vessels.

+ Violance are not allowed.

- New areas.

+ The Ruby Sea. Expansive, sea-like area with pirate activity. Connected to Dravania.

+ Yanxia. The location of the city of Doma. Currently under the control of Garlean Empire.

+ The Azim Steppe. Home of Au Ra tribe. This is also the first expansive, plains-type area in FFXIV.

+ Also other areas being introduced in FanFest Las Vegas locate in Ala Mhigo.

- New content that based on the concept of Deep Dungeon - Palace of the Dead, currently being called Deep Dungeon 2.0. (Planning for 4.X)

- New large-scale PvP content.

- Something big will be added that has never been seen before in MMORPG.

- New fruits, peaches. (....)

- (Considering) A boost potion like in WoW that can use for powerlevel.

+ The ratio of agreement in implementing this are 7:3.

+ If they do implement this, the devs will decide for this potion only up to a certain level.

+ Related to Yoshi’s comments about this, please go here.

- The Forbidden Land of Eureka

+ A new exploratory mission. Unique to 4.0. Created as a “theme park”.

+ Featuring Notorious Monsters within 72 hours of reset.

+ FF3 fans will be satisfied with the nostalgia.

- New Gears and Recipes.

+ New MNK gear that Dadlander wearing in the trailer will be the new AF version. Female still unspecified. Obtainable once you are level 70.

+ More AF gears will be announced in the future.

- New Gathering content

+ Related to the new underwater travelling.

+ Fisher will have special content underwater.

+ “Big things” coming along as well.

- The 4th Residential Area.

+ Introducing Shirogane, a Far-Eastern hoysing area in Hingashi.

+ Directly related to the main storyline.

+ Ready to launch after 4.0 release.

- Relic Weapon.

+ Forbidden Land of Eureka will be the next specific content tied in for the new Relic weapon.

+ If it goes well, they will think of the equipment version for the Relic through Eureka as well.

+ Since players are tired of the idea using existing content for the upgrade stages, they agreed on creating a specific attraction park for the next Relic. They also plan on design content that will be catching up the modern standard, without having to fall back on the old content.

+ Notorious Monsters will be one of the key features for this new Relic.

⧫ Adjustments

- PS3 will no longer be supported when 4.0 launch.

- New minimum spec for Windows. No longer support Core2 Duo, 32bit users need to upgrade to 64bit.

- 4K resolution will be priority than Dx12.

- Increase the inventory and Armoury Chest spaces.

+ They want to test the stablize of this new expansion to the inventory with the server, so it may come after 4.0 launch, which causing the expansion split into two parts.

+ More details in future Live Letter.

+ It is unknown whether or not they will implement this for retainer, since both system between player inventory and retainer inventory are different.

- More Jobs and Status attributes balanced on the whole. They planned to reduce the gap of difficulty and going back to the basics.

+ Reducing the amount of things that need to be managed, like the complexity of skills rotations.

+ Emphasizing the characteristics of each Job.

+ Change 1: Additional skill system overhaul. Skills will be grouped by role rather than job/class.

+ Change 2: Reassessment of unused/ineffective acions. They want to make it easier for new players to get into the game.

+ Rehauling the UI and creating icons for each job. They want the visual is more lively rather than just looking at timers.

+ Accuracy will be adjusted. Mostly lean to the side “removing” it.

+ Parry may also have the same fate.

+ Global cooldown combos will not change.

+ There are going to be (major?) changes to Bard.

- Monster battle time will be shorter compare to 3.x.

        - Release Spectator Mode for Lord of Verminion minigame.

        - Everyone: To the moon.

        - Swimming or adventures on the sea. Also underwater mounts. (UPDATE: 4.0)

        - Expanding Winebaud Riddles storyline.

- Story surrounding F'lhaminn and the scenario surrounding Niellefresne to be added.

- Story about depicting “evil people” obtaining white magic might make an appearance.

        - The Mandragoras family may return.

        - Job-specific achievements like the tank mounts.

        - Release a Bestiary.

        - FC Alliances.

        - A “buddy” system like FFXI’s.

        - Hamlet and Caravan may happens in the future.

- Add-on support. (the most looking forward from players base since the beginning of ARR) (It seems like they have given up with this, so we don’t have to keep waiting)

- FC summoning. (UPDATE: This is still on the works, but they mentioned it as Grand Summoning) (The current plan they are thinking about is to have a specific person in the specific time of the server to perform the grand summoning, and everyone will fight over to claim for that summoning)

- New FC ranks.

        - Gaius to return in the future. Might not like what players want.

- Esitinien may return in the future, and he had an “amazing stage of returning”. Also hinted about inviting him to join the Scions in the future, though he won’t immediate accept the offer because he doesn’t like company.

- The team want to added Blue Mage job. But it may not literally “Blue Mage” but in a new apperance that contain Blue Mage attributes. Yoshi doesn’t want BM to be like old BM from other FF. Something new beside learning abilities.

- New mobile app that can allow players to chat with their friends in LS or FC. Users can also access retainers and market thing, etc. (Working to releasing this before the next expansion)

        - More stories about Rogue’s team.

- More collaboration events in the future with other games outside FF titles. (as a high demand of PSO2 collaborated with FFXIV)

- FC retainers in the task list for 4.x.

- Friendlist cross-world after 4.0 release.

➤ Battle

        - Job-specific limit break animations for LB1 and LB2.

- Adjustments to insta-death mechanics in certain old duties.

        - A practice mode for raids.

- The appearance of the myth “Omega Weapon”. (UPDATE: 4.0)

- Levi-egi and Ramuh-egi for SMN.

- Higher Hunting Ranks.

- PvP skill points allotment for each job.

        - Gaining FC credits from Wolves Den.

- Duty Roulette: Raid for old raids. (They are discussing about moving on to this, no date confirm)

- Old Bahamut Coils, or Crystal Tower raids will be add in Challenge Log.

- Allowing to enter Crystal Tower raids with less than 24 players.

- Adjusts to the duration of the Ammunition effect for Machinist.

- New map for The Feast. (UPDATE: Patch 3.5)

- Battle against Proto Ultima in 24-man mode.

- Content that go through NPC like Deep Dungeon will be added in the new version of Party Finder that released in 3.5.

- GC Platoons being update with AI for other content after 4.0.

        - Buffs to specialist actions.

        - New FATE content for crafter.

➤ Gathering

- Adjustment to “something is amiss” during a mooch when fishing.

- New FATE content for gatherer.

➤ Item

- Elemental Materias may be adjusts in the future.

- Khloe Minion.

- Crystal Tower raids equiment will be dyable.

➤ Housing

- Ability to change eye and skin colour via Aesthetician.

- Furnishing that can display equipment. (UPDATE: After releasing Aquarium and Apartment, they will look onto this)

- Functionality for moving house to a different plot, workshop status included. This will be at some points after the apartment housing feature added in 3.4.

- Message board feature.

- Housing wards in Ishgard.

- Increase number of items that can be placed inside houses. (UPDATE: Still in progress)

- City-state furnishings to be added.

- A furniture or system that can create a stage and lighting effect on the stage for players.

- Allowance of logging in and out of private chambers within FC house instead of logging back in outside of FC house.

- Delivery Moogle at Apartments.

➤ QoL/Minor

        - Succubus/Ultima horns can be dyeable.

        - Bunny tights keep the tail as white when dyed.

- Being able to queue with your chocobo out. (They are still working on it, will try to release it before the next expansion) (UPDATE: Patch 3.5)

        - Function to display how many items are stored on retainers.

- Lalafells will be able to stand on step stools. And Lalafell NPC vendors will have step stools in future so they can be seen.

- They will discuss if they want to turn off the unstackable option for Dragonskin Treasure Map so player can bring more than one map in their inventory.

- Actions for mount like Casting Effect for Witch Broom or Wind from Sanuwa mount are still on the work.

➤ Random Idea

        - Crafting recipe that can turn shards into crystals into clusters or vice versa.

        - Rotation practice mode.

        - 1v1 duels in housing areas.

        - Plotline explaining how FFXIV interacts with other FF games.

        - Tataru’s song to be implemented.

- Chocobo breeding will be expanded, allowing you to breed your chocobo with other player’s chocobo.

- A roulette system for Gold Saucer where you have a specific task each week, for example you got Chocobo Racing for this week and another one for the next week.

- Might be cool to have dating game.

- Bonus exp for players who forming a party of DoH/DoL.

- Review the needed of servers merge if Cross Server Raid Finder doesn’t work.

- Intermediate Hall, just like Novice Hall.

- A mix style of Bliztball from FFX.

➤ Battle

        - Bahamut Coils to be added to the Challenge Log. As well as Crystal Tower.

- Custom hotbars for PvP mode.

        - PvP server(s) if demand is high enough.        

- Changing SCH/AST party bonus to MND.

- No longer waiting inside Ring area at the beginning of the instance when someone DC’.

- Learning from how Void Ark being too easy, and City of Mhach getting a lot of good positive feedbacks, they don’t have any plan to nerf it but they still watching the clear results and decide if they need to nerf it or not. Also if they have more time in development, they will make a Savage version for City of Mhach due to a lot of requests from players.

- They will look into the Grand Company restriction when doing PvP as it’s a neccesary task to investigate. But it require a lot of testing. (UPDATE: Patch 3.5)

- Ozma Savage may happened after 4.0.

➤ Exploration

- Surrounding areas of Coerthas region to be added. Also old 1.0 areas. (UPDATE: Yoshi-P said “I don’t know”)

- Increase the speed of mounts on the ground. MIGHT add the Cloud’s motorbike.

➤ Item

        - Yukata version.

        - Shields for the older primals that are currently not exist.

        - A Tonberry’s knife glamour.

        - Blood Sword glamour for DRK.

        - Imperial armor generals glamours. (no promises if they will be release or not)

        - The top-only version of the Riviera Dress for glamour.

        - An option to switch your eye-patch or wrist from this side to other side.

        - FC Crest on player’s chocobo.

- (Dreaming) No more restriction to job specific glamour.

- Daily, weekly, primal tokens will be done when 3.X is completed. (Yoshi-P thinks)

- Considering of adjusts some of current head items that had the glasses on can be toggle off freely (Harlequin Hat for example) (Update, as there is now official words about this) Adding more variations on head gear that includes glasses and other facial accessories as a set, such as Harlequin’s set.

- Consider of downgrade the cost fee of melding Materia from NPC.

- Edda glamour.

- Hairstyles obtained via dungeons, etc.

- Dyeable of The Creator savage gears.

- DRK can use scythe, if enough demand.

- Cover NIN’s eyes when wearing hood in the shadow.

- The Last Remnant’s hairstyle and Valeria Heart glamour.

➤ Mount

        - Dhalmel mount.

- Sleipnir theme if Yoshi allows. Also considering for it to be able flying. (They have a schedule of flying mounts that need to work on, so request on this might interrupt with the schedule) (UPDATE: Please look forward to it)

        - Beast tribe BGM themes for beast tribe mounts.

        - Frontlines BGM theme for the ADS mount.

        - Mount action for Sanuwa and Kongamato mount.

        - New mount reward between the range of Adamantoise and Fenrir in Gold Saucer.

- Hraesvelgr as a mount.

- Big Carbuncle mount.

➤ Housing

        - Outdoor furnishing that allow you to get on the roof.

        - A preview function for the furnitures.

        - Furnitures that can interact with players minion.

        - Furnitures based on the Gold Saucer minigames.

        - Adjustment to plants in the garden that will not die during maintenance.

        - Possible to set minions on loose in FC House.

        - Guestbook to be added to FC (personal?) housing.

        - Fish prints from fishing log to be converted into furnishings.

        - Addition of furnishings that have multiple objects in a set.

        - Multiple furnishings based on other FF characters being planned.

        - Able to view companions exp from chocobo stable menu.

        - Adjustments to be made to balance out the cost of gardening for chocobo food.

        - Increasing the level cap of airships, coming along with capacity.

- Add more cobblestones for outdoor furnishing or a swimming pool.

- Idea of adding wallpaper to the partitions, or prepare a new one that matches with the wallpaper. (UPDATE: Patch 3.5)

- More monster themed housing furnitures.

- Swimming pool.

➤ Misc

        - Adding voice to the /huzzah emote.

        - Possibly for more nerf to the difficulty of achievement FATEs.

- Making it easier to tell if certain tradable items are unable to be listed on the market board for sale. (This has been working on)

- Disable the usage of “Name of the xxx” for crafting if player already used it in the the craft.

        - An option to see remaining charge time on aetherial wheels in the Timer window.

        - Adding the Concentration mini-game from “The Rising” event to the Mog Station.

- Making it possible to progress certain workshop crafts without a party. New update: They are still working on this for their schedule, and considering which project will be able to solo.

- Also considering added some reward for people outside of the FC that stop by for helping with the company workshop.

        - Increase quantity of items returned from retainer ventures.

        - Additional ways of attaining airship repair materials.

        - Gardening related company action.

        - Easier way to recruit new members for FC.

        - Increase the yeild of Dark Matter Cluster from retainer venture.

- Yoshi wants a break dancing emote but the team won’t be happy if he wants to do it.

- Squat emote.

- An emote where you hold your hands together and bow.
