JANUARY 11 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Last night Meyzeek hosted the JCPS league finals for Quick Recall. The team defeated both Brown 46-20 and Barret 46-15 to finish first place in the district. Congrats to the team. They are back in action next week for our District match up.
Gaming Club will meet this Friday from 2:30 to 4:00. If you are being picked up after the meeting, make sure your ride is at the pickup lane at 4:00pm sharp.
Your Meyzeek Lady Bears defeated Farnsley Middle 45-17. The girls play for the regular season title today against Johnson at 4:45. Hope to see everyone there to cheer us on!
All-County Sixth Grade Band auditions are on March 8. Music was passed-out yesterday to all 6th graders. If they lose it, it may be found on the Band's web site (www.meyzeekband.com). Also on each page are the times, location, and audition procedures.
Louisville Jazz Workshop
Brought to you by the UofL, the Louisville Jazz Workshop has been offering the opportunity for all students, regardless of age and experience, the chance to learn more about jazz, to improvise, to play with their peers and to receive professional instructions.
Accepted instruments include: trumpet, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass (upright & electric), drums, vibraphone, xylophone, violin, viola, cello, and voice. Rehearsals are held once a week in the School of Music building in room 311 and last for 1 hour. At the end of each 12-week session there is a recital that takes place in Bird Recital Hall.
The total cost of the 12-week workshop is $200.

Location: Ballard High School Indoor Baseball facility - 6000 Brownsboro Rd

Time: 4:00 – 5:00
Players need to bring Glove and bat. No cleats or batting helmet.
Players need to sign in at the front table and receive an evaluation number.
Due to limited availability, there will not be a make-up tryout.

Science Olympiad will be practicing this events today, January 11: Crime Busters, Ecology, Mystery Architect, Solar system and Wright Stuff. Please arrange for prompt pick up at 4:30. Meyzeek Rocketry team will have their first parent meeting Monday, January 22nd from 2:30 to no later than 3:30. Students should go to cafeteria after school. The meeting will then be held in room 220. Please email Mr. Cramton for any questions.
Mathcounts will have practice this Friday from 2:30 to 4:30. Please have a prompt pick up ready at 4:30.

We need your photos for the Meyzeek Yearbook! Attention coaches of Meyzeek sports and academic teams and parent/teacher sponsors of Meyzeek clubs: Please make sure you take a team/club group photo, so that your group can be included in the Meyzeek Yearbook.
We also NEED submissions of candid photos from the school day, Meyzeek events, field trips, sports events, and clubs for the Meyzeek yearbook! Please include names of students in the photo and the activity/event.

VALENTINES DAY TELEGRAMS
Student council is sponsoring our annual Valentine's Day telegrams fundraiser. If there are any parents willing to volunteer and have a background check that has cleared we would love your help. The contact football team will start conditioning January 15th at 3:30pm. We will work on speed, strength, endurance, and foot work. We will run and workout in the hallways, stairs, and gym. Conditioning will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5pm all the way up until football practice starts up.
We are only looking for young men that are truly interested in playing contact football next season. They must have an up to date sports physical on file with the school or Coach Dearborn to workout. No good school clothes, boots, or jeans to be worn during workouts, only sweat pants, shorts, and tennis shoes. Coach Beckley
