Mish Mash Knit Scarf
Recommended yarn for a single loop cowl: 2 skeins of Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande Hues (color 4010 - Gray) 220 yards per skein, 440 yards total
Please note that additional skeins will be needed for a cowl that can comfortably wrap twice around the neck and still have some drape. Additional skeins will be needed for a longer traditional length scarf, too.
Needle size: US 10 (6.0 mm)
Skills needed: knit, purl, long tail cast on, bind off, Mattress stitch/seaming
Cast on 40 stitches using the long-tail cast on method.
R1: *K1, P1* repeat until end of row
R2: *P1, K1* repeat until end of row
Repeat rows 1 and 2 nine (9) more times
R21: *K10, P10* until end of row
R22: *P10, K10* until end of row
Repeat rows 21 and 22 nine (9) more times
Continue alternating and repeating rows 1 and 2 for blocks of ten (10) rows then rows 21 and 22 for blocks of ten (10) rows for 4-5 times (depending on your gauge) or until scarf measures desired length.
Seam or mattress stitch the ends of the scarf together with remaining yarn tail for a cowl.
