Dear AESD Families,

As we near the end of September, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support in making this school year a positive experience for our students. With October approaching, we’re excited to build on the progress we've made and continue creating a great learning environment for all.

Below are some important updates and reminders for the coming week:

Community Schools Survey - LAST DAYS TO SHARE YOUR VOICE!

We invite you to complete our Community Schools Survey.  Your input will help guide the Community Schools Steering Committee data at your school site.  Please take 5 minutes to share your voice!

We would like to congratulate Marshall Elementary for achieving the most improved attendance during week two of September! Marshall students received a special treat this week for this accomplishment.
Let’s keep this momentum going ensuring that every student is present and ready to learn.

Mid-Autumn Festival
This month, AESD proudly celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival. Also known as the Mooncake Festival or “Zhong Qiu Jie” in Mandarin. Students from our Mandarin DLI program participated in the festivities, singing traditional songs, creating crafts, and sharing mooncakes. At AESD, we love to honor and celebrate the diverse cultures that enrich our community.

Custodial Appreciation Day
Please join us in celebrating Custodial Appreciation Day on October 2nd! Our dedicated custodial staff plays a vital role in keeping our schools clean, safe, and welcoming. Let’s take a moment to show our appreciation for all they do to support our students and staff every day.

Filipino American Month
October is Filipino American History Month, a time to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Filipino Americans. Throughout the month, we honor the vibrant heritage and the many ways Filipino Americans have enriched our community and country. Let's take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate together!

Blind Awareness Month
October is Blind Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and celebrate the strength and resilience of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
Here at AESD, we take great pride in our exceptional Visually Impaired Program at Barton Elementary. We're continually inspired by the determination and achievements of our incredible students, their dedicated teacher, Mr. Keith Christian, and the entire team that supports them

On behalf of our Board of Education and staff members, thank you for your active involvement in your child’s education and for your ongoing support of AESD.

Sincerely,

Jesus “Jesse” Chavarria
