  2. Revisit “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”
  3. Discuss the diet of a butterfly at the different life cycles.
  4. Discuss healthy and unhealthy food.
  5. Make a graph.
  6. Ask: What did the caterpillar eat each day of the week? When did she eat the most? When did she eat the fewest? What are some of the healthy food she ate? What are some of the un healthy food she ate? Why are they unhealthy? What do you think the caterpillar should eat instead? What food would you eat if you want ot stay healthy?

How many life cycle does a butterfly have?

  1. Ask the children what they know about the learned about butterflies.
  2. Revisit “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”
  3. Ask: What kind of animal is the butterfly? Why? How many life cycle does a butterfly have? Can you name them?
  4. Distribute activity p. 106.
  5. Have the children place the right order of sequence of the butterfly in activity p. 106.

The children will learn about the of a butterfly symmetry?

Can you identify the symmetry of each butterfly?

  1. Show images of different butterflies.
  2. Discuss what symmetry means symmetry.
  3. Have the children answer: Can you identify the symmetry of each butterfly? How can you tell? Do all animals have symmetry?
  4. Distribute construction paper, and paint.
  5. Have the children fold the paper and add paint. Then, have the children press and slide their hand towards the right corners of paper of the paper.
  6. Have the children open the paper and see the symmetry of the butterfly.
