Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Textcaster available!

Arrests and Reports 

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made arrests and took multiple reports during the week of September 3rd, 2024 through September 9th, 2024

September 4th, 2024 - Warrant Arrest - On September 4th, a St. Clair County Deputy arrested Jonathon E. Self at the Leavenworth County Jail in Kansas, on three St. Clair County Warrants for Failure to Appear. The original warrants had the following charges: 1st Warrant: Possession of a Controlled Substance; Warrant 2: Exceeding the Posted Speed Limit by 26 or more; Warrant 3: Possession of a Controlled Substance and a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Self was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and there is no bond set for these warrants.

September 4th, 2024 - Burglary in Osceola - On September 4th, a St. Clair County Deputy responded to a call for service on NE 75 Road, Osceola, in reference to a possible burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Kimberly Jones, who reported that between the hours of 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, someone had broken into her home, and damaged the front door in doing so. The deputy took photographs of the property, took a report, and the investigation is currently ongoing.

September 6th, 2024 - DUI Arrest - On September 6th, a St. Clair County Deputy performed a traffic stop on J Highway, on a vehicle for traveling off of the roadway multiple times. Upon making contact, the Deputy was able to identify the driver as Kenneth Essley. Kenneth had slurred speech and submitted to both a field sobriety test and a field breathalyzer test - the results of which indicated intoxication. Kenneth was charged with a Class B Misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated, and was transferred to a local hospital for further tests.

September 6th, 2024 - DUI Arrest - On September 6th, a St. Clair County Deputy performed a traffic stop on 54 Highway, on a vehicle in regards to the driver appearing asleep at the wheel. Upon making contact, the Deputy was able to identify the driver as Cheryl Wagoner. Cheryl had slurred speech, could barely stay awake, and submitted to a field sobriety test. At this time, she was charged with a Class B Misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated, and was booked and released pending formal charges.

September 7th, 2024 - Warrant Arrest - On September 7th, a St. Clair County Deputy arrested Frankie Wood at the Boonville Department of Corrections, on a St. Clair County Warrant for a felony charge of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. Mr. Wood was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $2,500 cash or surety.

September 7th, 2024 - Warrant Arrest - On September 7th, a St. Clair County Deputy worked alongside Hickory County Deputies, and arrested Brian Parker at the St. Clair/Hickory County Line, on a St. Clair County Warrant for a felony charge of 3rd Degree Assault. Mr. Parker was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

September 9th, 2024 - Warrant Arrest - On September 9th, a St. Clair County Deputy arrested Justin A. Woods at the Greene County Jail, on a St. Clair County Warrant for Failure to Appear. The original charge on the warrant is as follows: Class D Felony - Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Mr. Woods was transported to the St. Clair County Jail pending a court date of October 7th.
