IN BRIEF: Paid teaching experience

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) recruits some of the most intelligent middle school and high school students throughout the world to nurture their intellect through summer programs and courses. More information can be found here: http://cty.jhu.edu/about/ Some of these courses take place on the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus! They are inviting applications for teaching instructors for courses over the upcoming summer. Two sessions are available (Session 1 from June 22 – July 15, Session 2 from July 15 – Aug 5). Applications are accepted for sessions 1, 2, or both. Instructors will be paid $2,400 - $3,000 per 3-week session. Examples of courses offered at Homewood are Fast-Paced High School Biology, Neuroscience, Genetics, and Investigations in Engineering, although more are available and can be found here.

Submit your applications here: http://cty.jhu.edu/jobs/summer/apply/ . Applications are now being accepted, and positions are open until filled. Questions? Contact Justin La Favor (jlafavo3@jhmi.edu).

Free vehicle escort pilot program on East Baltimore Campus

[Larger image]

The vehicle escort service will provide rides to and from the East Baltimore campus (see map).

All Johns Hopkins University and Health System faculty members, staff members, students and trainees are able to request a ride within the pilot service area as part of this program. A valid Johns Hopkins ID will be required.

How does it work: Call the transportation office (410-502-6880) and tell them your name, your Johns Hopkins ID badge number, your pickup and drop off locations and a phone number. Drivers dispatched for the vehicle escort service pilot will be uniformed protective services officers from the Johns Hopkins Corporate Security and Transportation team. When you call to schedule a ride, the dispatcher will inform you of the officer’s name and vehicle description.

Questions? Contact the Transportation office: 410-502-6880
