September 25, 2025

Van Wert Students should stop by Student Services and vote for homecoming attendants.

Voting for leadership in the German Interact Club will end at 9am today. If you are a club member and have not voted, please do so. The results will be shared later today.

This announcement is for students that are scheduled to donate blood tomorrow at The Day of Caring bloodmobile. Please bring your driver’s license or a photo ID with you to the check in table located by the high school office 10 minutes before your scheduled donation time. Your lab instructors have your blood donation appointment time - please ask them. Remember to drink water and eat well today.

Members of the German Interact Club should go to Google Classroom and vote for leadership positions. The profiles are on a Google Slide and the voting is done on a Google form.

Antwerp Students must get their picture taken tomorrow morning (Thursday, August 28th) in the School Auditeria before boarding the bus to Vantage. Order forms are available for pick up in the high school office.

Individual picture order forms need to be turned in by the end of school today and parking pass forms need to be turned in as soon as possible. Both of these can be turned into the front office, Student Services or Ms.Klinger.

Juniors will have hearing and vision screenings this week. Please remember to bring your glasses or contacts with you when you are called down for the screenings.

Tomorrow will be a $1 jeans and a $1 home school and your favorite sport team shirt day. All proceeds will go to the Robbie Seffernick Scholarship. Robbie was in the welding program and he would have been a 2015 graduate from Wayne Trace. Robbie was killed in a car accident his junior year. His family gives back to vantage students from the Hey Buddy Scholarship each year to keep his memory alive. As always, please wear appropriate jeans.

The Brumback Library in Van Wert is hosting several teen activities throughout the summer as part of their "Color Our World" Summer Reading Program. Teen activities include a Teen Art Showcase, crafts, a color war event, and a Teen Cosplay/Costume Showcase. Stop in the Media Center or at the Brumback Library for more information.

The aluminum can fundraiser raised $672. This is in part due to Century Trading Company matching the amount raised and giving us significant support. Thank you to everyone who participated and for Century Trading Co in their generosity! This money will go towards funding the German Interact Club. Juniors: please check your email for more details on the opportunity to house a German student next school year.

Continental Students and their guests are expected to be at Prom by 6:30pm when dinner begins. If you are planning to arrive after 6:30, you must have prior approval from Mr. Eding. Please contact him this week to make arrangements, if necessary.

After prom includes Crazy Pinz, an after prom shirt and a bag. There will be transportation from the school to Crazy Pinz. In order to buy your ticket, you will need to have your out of town guest form completed, if you need one.

Starting Wednesday, April 16th, there will be an Aluminum Can Fundraiser. Blue recycling bins will be placed throughout the building. Please place only aluminum cans in these bins! If you want to bring cans from home to support the fundraiser, please place the bags next to the side door of the bus barn. Check your email for more details.

Reminder that tomorrow is our state mandated evacuation drill. Students if you have any questions, contact your instructor.

There will be a financial aid meeting for all Van Wert County Students this Wednesday, November 6th at the PAC center in Van Wert.

Any SENIOR girl interested in representing Vantage Career Center as a candidate for Peony Queen Pageant should stop by Mrs. Evans’ room, C-14, and pick up an application. Peony Queen candidates must write an essay of 250 words or less stating why she would like to be Queen Jubilee L(50), go through an interview process, and also have a talent selection for the pageant. All candidates must be able to attend all required scheduled events, including meet the candidates at various local club meetings, pageant rehearsals, the Peony Pageant, the Peony festival, and various local parades. Again, any senior girl interested in representing Vantage as a candidate in this pageant must see Mrs. Evans in room C-14 and pick up an application. Applications and the essay are due to Mrs. Evans by Tuesday, November 12. A committee will then select applicants to interview. All applicants selected to interview will also be required to show the committee their talent portion. The interview day(s) will be announced once all applications are submitted, reviewed, and a list of interviewees is established. Vantage’s candidate will be chosen by December 3.
