A STEADY HAND

IN A TIME OF CRISIS

August 2026

“MHoP is going through a crisis cycle.

Crises of leadership;

Crises of legitimacy;

And crises of long-term health.”

At the end of the day, we just want a game to play.

It’s been almost a year and a half since MHoP began, and I have come to deeply love the game and its community; warts and all.

I am not a perfect candidate. I do not have an unblemished record. But I do have the most experience in the Triumvirate of any candidate in the race, and that experience is vital in guiding MHoP through this bumpy time.

I understand that in a time of crisis you do not want frequent changes in leadership or dangerous rocking of the boat without careful consideration. I will provide that necessary stability; getting new Speakers elected, and/or established, and keeping the game going. Once we have that baseline stability we will begin proper discussions with the community on how to shape MHoP for the future.

Our large-scale problems require solutions with community backing, but that is only achievable by keeping everyone in the loop with frequent notices and communication.

I intend to work closely with party leadership, using the party leadership channels to guide decisions for the whole game through community involvement. Being in Leadership will get you a voice in our discussions that affect the whole game, from things as small as precise election timings, to as large as reform of the entire game.

It has been a great privilege of my time in MHoP to be trusted with the Lord Speakership, and I worked tirelessly for almost a year on being a transparent Lord Speaker with that high standards that befit that House. While my time in the role ended less than ideally, consider the rest of my record in office: for example my work on Honours and Peerages; pushing for a realistic reflection of the Westminster process wherever realistic for MHoP; moderating the discord; or solving the wide variety of issues that crop up for the Triumvirate.

5 Pledges for Head Moderator:

  1. Robust Community Moderation

The reputation of moderation has been through a rough patch in the past few days, specifically litigating old cases. Pol recruited new moderators before resigning, so I will work with them and Tri to manage the moderation of MHoP as a whole. We will set out exactly what banned players need to do to appeal their bans, and the process behind it. We will also commit to providing more detailed documentation when bans occur, so we do not have to re-litigate what a player was banned for in future.

  1. Openness, Transparency, Accountability

The Triumvirate has been behind a private channel for most of its history. I want to move Tri out of there and into a channel with Party leadership in most instances. While ultimately Triumvirate decisions are made by the Tri alone, we will be able to better reflect the community by discussing plans with party leadership and making them part of running MHoP.

  1. A clear process for removing inactive members of the Triumvirate

Given recent events I will be adding a way for the Party leadership to remove members of the Triumvirate for inactivity, provided it can be proven to the Guardians. If a member of the Triumvirate is not active they should be made to resign so an active member can take their place. While the Triumvirate can be a lot to have on your plate sometimes, and we cannot expect members to be around 24/7; extended periods of inactivity are unhealthy for the game, and the community, and should be dealt with accordingly.

  1. A Simplified Constitution

As discussed in recent days, the current MHoP Constitution is woefully out of date and poorly represents the MHoP we find ourselves in today. It’s largely an afterthought, with MHoP largely being governed as an elected dictatorship of the Head Moderator and Triumvirate.

We should be realistic about that, and make it clear in the Constitution. But we should also make clear the expectations for the Triumvirate, and how to remove them in a simple manner.

  1. More Frequent Polling

Polling is the most obvious way the Triumvirate updates the players on how they’re doing, and the feedback is very important for players. A long time between polling leads to a decline in player interest, and thus a decline in the game. Therefore, polling should be done every two weeks. This should be made clear to the party leaders in discussion, and the party leaders should keep the Triumvirate accountable to the two week timeframe.

More radical changes may be necessary, but they can  only be decided with detailed community-wide discussion.
