TRINITY LUTHERAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

DISCIPLINE POLICY

2015-2016

“Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death.” Proverbs 19:18

Attendance at Trinity Lutheran Christian School is a privilege.  The school exists for the purpose of providing a complete and wholesome education with emphasis in moral and Christian training.  Effective instruction in these areas requires good order and discipline, which may be described as the absence of distractions, friction and disturbances, which interfere with the effective functioning of the students, class, and school.

Here at Trinity, we view Scripture as a norm of rule for life and we attempt to apply God’s Word to a Christian teaching-learning environment.  Our children are expected to exhibit growth in Christian living.  One facet of this would be to show respect to all adults present on our campus.  We live in a sinful world where conflicts arise and our Christian teachers and staff are compelled to deal with these situations.  Our teachers will use Christian disciplinary techniques such as:

Speaking to the child to foster acceptable behavior, setting a Christian example and praising good behavior, utilizing reasonable classroom rules which train youngsters in Christian citizenship, and providing an environment where teaching can happen.  Spanking, (corporal punishment), though rarely administered, will be administered under the Principal’s direction when deemed necessary and then only with the involvement of the parent/guardian.

I, the undersigned, have read the above statement and give consent to Trinity Lutheran Christian School to administer this policy.
