Dear Friend,

I was sorry not to see you on your way back from Rome. I hope I shall see the portrait of the Pope [6690] when I come to London.[1]

I am sending the papers and shall bring you the answer.

I am intending to go to London about the middle of July and I shall soon let you know the exact date.

An engineer, Mr. Alkan, is coming over with me for a couple of days: the day follow [sic] my arrival I shall go with him to the National Physical Laboratory and the next day I will take him round the Wembley Exhibition.[2]

Is it possible to find a room for him in a cheap hotel for two or three nights not too far from your residence as he does not know anybody in London and he will be with me most of the time.

I shall inform the friends who want to be painted about your arrival at the end of September.

Your sincerely,

Editorial Note:

Antoine XII-Armand, 12th duc de Gramont; styled duc de Guiche (1879-1962), scientist, entrepreneur and close friend of de László; for biographical notes, see [11801].
