USTA Northern California Hosts Back-to-School Tennis Play Day for Community Youth Groups on the GOOGLE Campus

Wednesday, August 21, 2013, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

In support of the vision of the United States Tennis Association Northern California Section (USTA NorCal) and its recently launched initiative, Beyond The Baseline:  Leading the way in bringing tennis & education* programs to grassroots communities, they are bringing together Google employees and kids from surrounding underserved Bay Area communities for an afternoon of tennis games and fun. This first-time event is the first in a series of strategic engagement events for employees of Silicon Valley.

Back to School Tennis Play Day for approx. 30 – 50 kids ages 6 – 16 from local East Palo Alto and Menlo Park community based youth service organizations (East Palo Alto YMCA, East Palo Alto Tennis & Tutoring, College Track and Ravenswood Youth Athletic Association, East Palo Alto) and Google employee volunteers. Event will feature tennis games and drills, swing ball tennis, rallying on mini courts, an inflatable fast serve booth contest, cardio tennis workouts, healthy snacks and chances to win prizes
