Dear Mrs. de Laszlo,

Many thanks for your kind letter of sympathy. I was with my mother^[1] till nearly the end -: mercifully she

did not suffer, though she lingered on unconscious for some weeks. I am so very glad to hear that Mr. de Laszlo is with you.

My husband^[2] joins me in many messages both to him

& you. We have felt such sympathy with him & such indignation on his behalf all these months.
