I'M KRISTEN STORYTIME WORKSHOP
APPLICATION
{due by midnight on february 2nd // kristenleighphotography@gmail.com}
1) What is your name! How old are you? And where do you live?
2) What do you do for a "living" - aka: how do you pay the bills? If you are not a full-time photographer, would you like to be someday? What would be your dream job (it doesn't have to be photography related… this workshop-arrow is being shot at a photography-bullseye, but I think a number of small businesses and professions could benefit from the time! I just want to know your heart and not "what you think I want to hear.")
3) What photography equipment do you have/own/use? Are you able to rent or borrow equipment if necessary? Do you own or have the ability to borrow a laptop/computer for the weekend?
4) If you live out of state and need to travel to Maryland, are you able to make and pay for those arrangements (the airports near us are Washington Reagan + Baltimore/BWI)? If you live locally, are you able to "commit" to being at the workshop for three days? If not, why not? (Children, already-scheduled job, school, etc) Are you comfortable sharing "living quarters" with a group of other workshop attendees? (Aka: you all would be crashing my house and we'd be hooking you up with beds, air mattresses, couches, etc and not paying for hotels/etc… Don't want anyone to be disappointed!)
5) Are you able to pay for the workshop fee up front, or would you be interested in a month-by-month payment plan to pay in little tidbits instead of one big chunk?
6) Do you have any food allergies/restrictions/preferences? What are your food LOVES?
7) Why do you WANT to come to the StoryTime WorkShop? I am very easily bribed. Just kidding. I am very hard to bribe (and by hard… I mean easy. See what I did there? Now you're all confused. Just how I like it. ;) haha!)
8) Why are you an artist/creative-person? How did you "get into" photography? And how many years of experience do you have with photography as "your art"? (Ps. Subtle hint: if you "fell in love with photography at a young age" tell me more than how you carried around your parent's camera and took pictures of everything around you. Not that that's stupid - that's my story too! - but these days it's fairly common. Tell me more… especially about your heart/mind/feelings. For example, I enjoyed the final product of photography. I loved "seeing" something that no one else saw, and "bragging" (?) my photos to people. Not really bragging… but getting the response of "WOW! That's beautiful! How did you do that! You have an eye!" I looked at pictures for more than I "studied photography." I still don't know much about using a camera. And it's taken years to LOVE the shooting-aspect of photography. My heart beats for the final presentation, display of, showcasing, "story-telling" part of photography. I seriously enjoy putting together blog-posts more than I like being at weddings. Does that make sense? I love being at weddings and shoots! I do! But my favorite is when I get to take it home and work with my images and share something for everyone to see. To tell a story the way I want to. Okay. You get it. Shutting up.)
9) Describe to me what it feels like to 1) eat your favorite food OR 2) wear your favorite "thing" OR 3) be in your favorite place. Tell me a story, camper.
10) Anything else you want to share or tell me? Anything at all! Really.
