Dear Friends,
Our fantastic library continues to offer educational programs, up-to-date resources and website, weekly story hour, and more. The task of the Friends is to raise money for our library above and beyond the funds allocated by the town.
As a result of our fund-raising efforts, we were able to give $5,000 to the Library Trustees in 2015. The Friends could not have done this without the support of our community. You donated and bid on auction items, baked and bought food, purchased items from the Boutique, and what more can you do? Well, there is one thing— we hope you will renew your membership or join if you are not a member by using the form below.

Reflecting on 2015 Successes Silent Auction – This was our major money-producing activity in 2015. A HUGE thank you to Jen Leary for chairing this fund raiser which added over $2500 to our treasury! Bake Sales – These sales have been very profitable. Note: In 2016 we will have four bake sales! Thursday’s Child – Thank you New London Inn for continuing to include us in your dinner schedule.

From the Director Highlights of 2015
• New carpet has been installed in the library!
• Another successful year of programs were offered: summer reading, Days of the Blackbird Festival, monthly craft night, story hour, monthly lectures, and Wilmot Farmers Market participation.
• Museum passes provided for the Montshire Museum and Currier Art Museum.
• A telescope was added to the collection for patrons to check out.
• We collaborated with fellow W.O.W. organizations – WCA Family Movie Nights and Wilmot Express.
• Circulation was brisk of new books, DVDs, downloadable e-books, and audios!
Upcoming in 2016
• Check out the calendar. There are fantastic programs planned this year!
• We continue to collaborate with other W.O.W. organizations including Midday at the Movies a series with WCA.
• A large scale loom is set up in the library for our latest project—“Wilmot Weaves!” This is an opportunity for the entire community to participate in creating a woven piece over the winter months.
• And yes, we will continue to purchase the latest mysteries, NYT Bestsellers, Academy Award winning DVDs, and hopefully a few books and films you haven’t heard of yet, but will fall in love with!
