EXECUTIVE ORDER ENFORCING THE MIND ACT
WHEREAS, the MIND Act was passed in the Fourth Congress.
WHEREAS, the State of Great Lakes has never enforced any of the provisions.
I. DEFINITIONS
- “The MIND Act” refers to B071, available at https://www.reddit.com/r/ModelUSGov/wiki/b071.
- “Public mental health facility” refers to any state owned psychiatric hospital, psychiatric ward, community mental health center, or other state owned entity which administers treatment for mental health.
II. ESTABLISHING THE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS BOARD
- In accordance with Section III of the MIND Act, this executive order establishes the Health and Wellness Board (henceforth “Board”) within the Department of Mental Health (henceforth “Department”).
- The Board shall consist of nine psychiatrists or psychologists licensed or otherwise professionally recognized within the state of Great Lakes, appointed by the Governor and serving without compensation.
- The Board shall serve the purposes designated for it by the MIND Act.
III. CREATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEMS.
- The funding appropriated to the state of Great Lakes by the MIND Act shall be allocated to the Department.
- The Department shall use the funding provided by the MIND Act to construct and improve public mental health facilities, which must follow the guidelines outlined in Section V Subsection C of the MIND Act.
- Any public mental health facility in the state of Great Lakes which does not follow the guidelines outlined in Section V Subsection C of the MIND Act shall be improved to do so.
IV. NOMENCLATURE.
- The Illinois Department of Mental Health, or IDoMH, is hereby renamed Great Lakes Department of Mental Health, or GLDoMH.
- The Great Lakes Department of Mental Health may also be be referred to as the Department of Mental Health or DoMH.
