10th August, 1931.

Please forgive this belated reply to your letter.[1] I have been unusually busy lately and afraid I have been obliged to neglect a good deal of my correspondents.

You will enjoy Budapest I am sure! And also have a good welcome there as there exists in Hungary very good feeling and devotion to all Britishers. You must not fail to go into the country to see the peasants still dressed in their national costume. I am writing by this same post to my friend, Mr. Stephen de Barczy, who is Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, and telling him that you will call on him.[2] He is in the Prime Ministers Palace which is near the Royal Palace high up on the mountain from where the entire city of Budapest can be seen. He is at present in Switzerland but will be returning to Budapest at the beginning of September, and I am sure he will be pleased to give you all possible assistance which you may need.

I am just leaving for Baden-Baden to take a rest cure for about three weeks, after which I shall join my family in the Tyrol for a few days and return home in the middle of September.

With my best wishes for a successful and happy holiday,

Believe me,
