5th December 1933.
Dear Mrs. Lucas,
I am just off for a two months’ holiday, which will end, I hope, in Morocco where I look forward to doing some studies. I am sorry I cannot see you before I leave, but hope to do so on my return.
I am so glad to hear that you are going to visit my native country which I am sure you will enjoy very much and where you will find much to interest you.[1] It just happens that a friend of mine who will be of great use to you is at present in London, and will stay here until the end of the work to work for the ‘rapprochement’ between Hungary and England. He lunched here yesterday with me and I told him of your request. He will be very glad indeed to give you all possible help, and will be able to place you with some very nice families where you can live both in town and country. I enclose his card. Whenever you would like to see him, please telephone and write to him. He is a most charming and cultivated man, and you will have all to your heart’s desire.
I shall be back at the beginning of March, and as you do not leave till April I hope to see you then.
I remember with pleasure our meeting in Taormina, and I only wish the weather had been better during our stay there. Will you please remember me to Major Longden[2] and your lady friend?
Believe me,
Sincerely yours,
