What are the dates for the intensive?
Monday July 14, 2025 - Friday July 18, 2025
Classes are offered Monday - Friday.
Will there be a program orientation?
There will be a virtual orientation for students and parents as well as an in person orientation on the first day of classes.

When will I receive my group assignment and schedule?
Schedules will be posted on the website and group assignments will be emailed no later than Monday July 7, 2025.
Is there a dress code and packing list?
Joffrey Ballet School is committed to providing an inclusive environment for all students. Gender nonconforming students, students with religious and cultural considerations and any student needing additional support is welcome to contact us to discuss the dress code. Please contact our Customer Support department with any dress code questions and/or concerns.
All students are required to purchase and bring the following two items
YELLOW DIABLO - Dancer’s need to purchase and bring a Yellow Diablo with them to the intensive
RING - Dancer’s need to purchase a performance ring that will be shipped to them IN ADVANCE. These are custom made so please order as soon as possible. Dancer’s who live outside the United States will pick up their ring at the intensive. If the order is placed too close to the start of the program the ring will be held for the student at the intensive and not shipped.
Cirque Arts:
General Appearance:
It is very common for students to experience blistering on their hands after their first couple days of the program. Have proper gloves ready and any ointments needed to relieve pain from blisters.
Which Cirque du Soleil show will I be assigned to?
Classes will focus on elements of the production KÀ, including attending the show. Students DO NOT need to purchase tickets. Family and friends are allowed to purchase tickets to the show that their student is attending at the box office.
Dorm students will be chaperoned by staff to and from the theater. Commuter students are responsible for their own transportation and will be chaperoned by staff at the theater.

Will there be a performance?
The Joffrey Ballet School invites all families and guests to join us in celebrating the hard work and dedication of our students as they showcase their growth in a culminating theater performance. Â Cirque Arts culminates with RiRi Summer. This spectacular evening of dance and circus arts is set to the music of iconic entertainer Rihanna. Taking place at the Clark County Library Theater, this performance includes both Cirque Arts and Jazz & Contemporary performers.

What days are classes offered?
Monday - Friday
What does a daily schedule look like?
Start Time: 8:30 am
Ending Time: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Typically, classes are held from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm / 8:30 am - 4:00 pm daily, Monday - Friday only.
Schedules for our intensives are made available the week prior to the program start date. Schedules are posted on the Joffrey website and will be updated every Sunday for the upcoming week. Schedules can be viewed online, and will also be posted on the Band group.
Are guardians allowed to watch class?
No parents, guardians or visitors are allowed to be in the building. All students must be dropped off outside, in front of the building entrance.
Do I need a physical to attend a summer intensive?
A completed physical or physician’s note from within the last 12 months is required and should be completed before a dancer begins their selected intensive. If you have a completed physical examination for your dancer from within the last calendar year, you can substitute it in place of the Doctor’s note. The letter must state that the dancer is healthy and physically able to participate in the summer program. This form will be submitted at the student’s program orientation. Does Joffrey offer housing or meals for this intensive?
Joffrey Ballet School offers housing and a meal plan for the Cirque Arts Intensive.

The meal plan (breakfast & dinner) is required for housing students. The housing meal plan does not include lunches. There is no lunch plan available for commuter students. |
For lunch, dorm students have the option to place a mobile order from a designated location, which an RA will pick up. This is optional, and Joffrey does not cover the cost of these lunches. Students will be informed of the designated pickup location the night before or the morning of.
Cirque Arts Students: Vending machines are available at AGC.
*For commuter students: Since students aged 17 and younger cannot leave the facilities without an adult and JBS does not offer chaperoned trips for lunch, most commuter students opt for delivery. Please note that the lunch delivery system available to dorm students is not offered to commuter students.

If you are looking for alternate lodging, we recommend searching for hotels close to Acro Gymnastics Las Vegas. Due to the competitive nature of hotels in the area during the summer holiday season, Joffrey is not able to recommend specific hotels. Below are hotels that are close to the studio:

Who will be supervising my dancer at the studio?
The Administrative team consists of Summer Coordinators and a group of Administrative Assistants who work with the Artistic Directors at the studios. The team facilitates daily operations and handles crises or emergencies should they arise.
All of our summer interns take part in a robust selection process that includes a formal application, one-on-one interviews, group evaluations and background checks. Most of our interns are currently attending university or have graduated. All candidates must have a dance background or share an appreciation for performing arts.
Which airport should my dancer fly into?
Dancers traveling to our Joffrey Las Vegas/Cirque intensives can fly into McCarran International Airport (LAS).
Joffrey Ballet School does not provide transportation to or from the airport for the Joffrey Las Vegas/Cirque intensives.
If students and/or parents feel comfortable, they may take a taxi, or a Lyft/Uber. This is generally less expensive than other options. Below are links that you might find helpful:
