Teen Council 2024–2025
The San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA) is accepting interest applications from high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors during the 2024–2025 school year for the San Diego Museum of Art Teen Council. Members have the opportunity to take on a collaborative role at the Museum working with Museum Educators and their peers to share ideas and participate in Community Engagement program development.
Meetings are held monthly via an online platform with in-person opportunities in 2024-2025. Teen Council meets monthly on Zoom on select Wednesdays from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Optional weekend event participation will be available outside of regular meeting times. Annual calendar will be provided. Space is limited to 30 students.
Please fill out the form below and send a completed application with Participant Waiver via email attachments to outreach@sdmart.org. Applications are due October 1, 2024.
After completing the application form, invited students will receive an acceptance email. Regular monthly meetings will begin on October 23, 2024. Members begin their council positions in October and remain active until the end of May 2025.
SDMA Teen Council Requirements:
To apply for SDMA TC, candidates must meet these requirements:
1. Be a 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grader currently during the 2024–2025 school year.
2. Submit your completed application by October 1, 2024.
3. Willingness to follow the rules and guidelines of the program.
4. Willingness to fulfill solo and group responsibilities such as participating in shared dialogue, art research assignments, presentation slides, project outlines, written content, audio and video formats, towards collaborative development of Community and Family Art Workshops.
5. Planned ability to attend 70% of Zoom meetings to maintain membership.
